Doesn’t look too ill here !
Let’s hope his illness has the same effect as with the England cricketers.

Agree but I'm not impressed with Hecky playing games.

His words were "he's ill and could be out for some time". Why say that.....if it's a normal illness.
Hecky can't be stupid, will have know what the illness was....and will have been advised it's serious and could be longer term.

When Wilder was manager he was more upfront regards info..his interviews were more informative and interesting.
He wasn't as bothered about tricking the opposition and was more confident in his players.

Where as Hecky always tends to keep his cards close to his chest and seems reluctant to release info making his press conferences less interesting.
His policy seems to be to not the let the opposition know anything about injuries, so they are constantly guessing.
However is fans are also in the dark.

I prefer it when our manager is keeping his cards close to his chest. As for our fans being kept in the dark, too bad!

Might be depressed ? Any manner of things but a persons health status should remain confidential

So what's the point in press conferences then?
I've stopped listening to Hecky because he's so vague, on this forum it shows that many are forced to read between the lines and guess what he really means.
It's almost funny, when some of our players (Clarke) are on the grass and expected to return soon, then 2 months later they still aren't fit to play.
What's all that about?

I'm not totally sure about this, but aren't clubs bound to give prress conferences or interviews for contractual reasons? Something to do with sponsorship.

Fair enough... think you're right, I suppose Hecky is contractually forced to answer
but due to controversy regards our injury list, he doesn't want to give any answers, so just gives vague half answers.

Think it's probably more about his frustrations regards the massive injury list (often with muscle strains and tares)
because then it points the spot light on the potential incompetence of the conditioning backroom staff.

And might not be so much about divulging available players/ potential line up info the opposition.

Not finding out the team news until one hour before the kick off is never a problem for me. I never read too much into press conferences

Does it matter if fans are in the dark until an hour before kickoff?

Press conferences, are only a contractural obligation to create rumors for journalists opinions. Feed them the truth, or carefully hidden fibs, and that obligation becomes a weapon....... or maybe not!
I hope to see Ahmedhodzic back starting soon. :)

So Anel has come out and said he was unwell and had glandular fever. Was holding him back
Got diagnosed and scanned for damage to his speen all good and no long lasting effects since he returned to training. Fair to say on this one Hecky wasn't being deliberately difficult
