Looks like he is the new scapegoat/whipping boy down at the Lane. I rate the lad going forward and he just needs a run of games to play in a settled back four to nurture him defensively which unfortunatley doesn't look like happening soon. Naysmith and Geary went through the same scenario and Naughton was obviously a better standard player. It would help our full backs if they had a proper winger playing in front of them instead of makeshift midfielders/forwards/defenders and a different one every week ,the changing of the formation/team every week helps no-one ,ask everyone on here what todays team would be and you would get scores of different answers. Blackwell needs to get his finger out and rely less on loan players ,get a settled team ,play players in position and let players play instead of shackling them. And the fans need to give players like Taylor who actually belong to us a fair chance.

I don't think Taylors as bad as people are making out. THe guy has been playing at a lower level and is at an age where he is still learning. You'd hope Naysmith could pass on his experience when he's fit as I actually think both are similar players at the core of it.

Taylor is no where near as bad as people make out and gets a lot of undeserved critisism.

Like Wards says, he's a young lad brought up from lower league.... He's forced to be nervous/still learning his game.

He needs to be in a settled side (then again, so do the rest of the team).

Some of the abuse he got at Leicester in comparison to "give him £30k a week" Killa was unbelievable.

I agree that he is better than he looked at Leicester but he was woefully bad there. And it was basics: poor control, poor first touch and mis-kicking on 3/4 occasions. Nervous, yes I think he is. Some would say that after half a season, nerves are a sign of not being able to cope with the pressure of the Championship/Sheffield United though.

When he has been at his best, he looks useful in an attacking sense. Defensively, he is getting caught in behind too often and lacks a little pace when a quick winger takes him on. He just doesn't convince me that he is going to get there and make the tackle/block/interception on enough occasions.

Taylor's been excellent in his last 2 home appearances. Think it's important that we get Naysmith off the wage bill asap (a reflection on his salary not his ability) and Taylor is currently our best option as a long term replacement for him.

Although Killa's attitude is poor & he's not as good as he seems to think he is, he's still a class above the likes of Taylor. Taylor's lack of pace is frightening and most wingers would love to play against him.

I fear the worse when Killa goes - particularly if we continue our recent trend of replacing good players with average ones.

I think he is nowhere near good enough to be a good championship full back. At times he looks frightened to death on the ball and going forward his crossing is woeful. Their 2nd goal on Saturday came straight after another dire cross from Taylor. I hope Naysmith gets back to full fitness soon as possible.

He didn't have a good game against Leicester, but I think he's looked pretty good for the most part this season. I feel much more comfortable with him at left-back than Stewart. Taylor is young, and can only improve - I think he'll turn out to be a really shrewd signing.

I'm not sure. He's by no means a bad player, but he doesn't look enough of an athlete to excel in modern football. He's "OK", but nothing more. If we fill our team with players of this standard, we'll never get out of this division. Then again, I'd ony put Naismith in the "OK" bracket, and he costs us almost £1M per year.

Taylor is slow but he can cross the ball, Stewart is quite fast but cant cross the ball

Taylor has poor positional sense and no pace, Stewart has average positional sense and a turn of pace. I know which one I'd rather have playing.

Taylor is playing above his level with us and doesn't look good enough for an upper mid-table Championship team.

People say he's learning his game, but whilst he's making the mistakes he's supposed to be learning from, he's gifting our opponents chances and we can't afford that.

The sooner Naysmith's back, the better. The only thing him and Taylor have in common is a lack of pace. Naysmith, however, has ability and nouse to make up for this. Taylor doesn't.

Exactly also Id wager a fit Naysmith is slightly faster than Taylor.

Risking the inexperieced League 1 standard Taylor will damage our season more. Id happily be glad to see us let Taylor go back to Tranmere.
