Rod Liddle in today's Times (on the topic of Everton v Tottenham, so probably written before our game yesterday):
"VAR has not eliminated controversy, it has exacerbated it, as I always thought it would. What we have now is a situation where the fans have to wait five minutes at a time for four people to make the wrong decision, instead of just one chap doing so in a split second. No matter how much money rests upon these football games, with their extravagantly remunerated players, there is no real protection against injustices occurring — and never will be, until the robots take over. Scrap VAR right now and let’s go back to abusing the ref."
