Edgar was wank today but wasn't helped by Howards' poor communicating. McEveley was also wank but we'll leave it at that and not get the McEveley lovers down :)
Edgar's first bad game and someone is expecting us to be slating him cos we do Collins and McEveley. Ffs that's the most Blades comment ever.

Collins and McEveley are shit, have been and continuously prove to be shit. They aren't scapegoats, they just aren't good footballers.

Footnote: I don't rate Alcock but I can say hand on heart is rather have him in the team than McEveley. At least he doesn't try and do things he can't do.

Perhaps because Edgar is usually solid whereas McEveley in particular is always worse than shit. Scapegoat my arse.

Must be me, but imo, Edgar's performances have been deteriorating the last 3 games. He's getting progressively worse. Slow to react. Poor anticipation and some strange headers. Just like the rest of the defence, he worries me everytime he gets the ball

Hope it's a blip

PS. For me also, Alcock changed the game. His energy going forward and his long throw that earned the first goal. Well done lad

...along with Sammon and Jose of course

It isn't Edgars' first bad game though as Blade58 eludes too, he is gradually getting worse but isn't nowhere near McEveley shitness.

My comment was more aimed at the previous post.
I'd say Edgar was at worst 'dodgy' against Colchester, it was more the partnership with Collins which was culpable not him individually. I wouldn't personally say he did much wrong v Bury either.
But no doubt today he was toss, less said about McEveley the better

I know it was mate.

What you say regarding Edgar though relates to the concerns on Edgar gradually getting worse and your post is more or less saying just that, so in theory you're actually agreeing.

Since that oh so wonderful international break - from which we havent won since. I hate them, and what they do to momentum etc.

scapegoatery is like a fan credit rating. if you do well for a while but then play shit for a while you need enough credits in the 'fan bank' so that the fans won't get on your back. if you are in the negative every week and your overdraft continually increases then after a while you will have enough negative credits to be the scapegoat.. purely on credit rating
