really , are you sure , after both manc clubs lost to show their fallibility last night
I would never right off jose unless theres only 2 games left and 7 points to make up
agree totally.. hopefully then we have the division one equivalent of jose? we could have. we just might.. thing is we don't have the division one equivalent of roman abramovich

There is also a lower points total between us and gillingham than chelsea and city

what is appalling is its been explained why we are delaying signings , so they can stay here and still some choose to ignore it , saying we have no intention of signing to which again is utter bollocks
Nigel has given several releases on the players we are after

like that nob brian the blade on rs last might
unless united spend 3m by the end of october we should boycott the club
what a nob

its a loan window , we cant buy anyone

I despair sometimes at how short sighted some people are
we lost only due to the fact Sharp blew a golden opportunity

You're deluded.
Do we get more points for the christmas games?

You say a completely different game to the rest of us by the look of it.

We lost because they pissed their way through us too many times (and who's to say they wouldn't one more time if we'd have equalised). We were second best for more than half of the game, any other result would have been an injustice.
For what it's worth I thought losing on Saturday was an injustice but last night surely wasn't.

The first one the goalkeeper cheated and so it was retaken. Taken fairly, he buried it. Obviously he bottled the second penalty, it was poor. So actually he missed 1 out of 2 penalties

when people was talking about it I expected to see him on the 6 yard box when I went to check the replays... he is about a yard off his line.... had he stayed on his line it wouldnt have made a difference as he would have saved it... the fact that the keeper moved off his line actually spared Sharps blushes!

he took 3 kicks and only put one in the back of the net - whether 1 was deemed unfair (it hardly made a difference considering where Sharp shot) he should be burying all 3!

But for one of those penalties the goal keeper essentially cheated... you wouldn't say Sharp scored if he was stood 10 yards offside and it was disallowed.

we often say similar... when a ball has been played over the top and the striker executes a shot and smashes it home he is praised for the finish despite it not counting (similar to when they miss and it's deemed that the "linesman saved his blushes"

people are making out as if the keepers actions prevented the goal (he could have stayed on the line and still saved it) and then we would be slating him for missing 2 out of 2... the fact that he did move forward and stole a yard allowed the kick to be retaken and thus sparing his blushes...

Cos lumping the ball as has been the case for the last 2 home games has worked a treat hasn't it ?

Wasn't lost on me last night that our best play was timed to the minute when Sammon left the field, and we played much less lumped football.

UTB.
Defences prefer to play against team who play too predictably whether it is against continual passing football or continual hoofball. I am a believer of mixing them up to keep the opposition guessing. Sammon isnt that good in the air anyway! With Sharp and McNulty as a pair up front we will struggle to score

True but they also like to play against certain types, depending on what they themselves are like. Big physical defenders like to play against big physical strikers and mobile, less physical defenders prefer little ones who they can chase around.
I can see McNulty and Sharp being effective against some defences but not others, same with Done and Sharp.
But to properly utilise a small pair we have to play to feet and I don't think our midfield or defence is good enough to play passing football in a 442.

Right now, I'd be tempted to play one up front, with Baxter just behind, have Basham sitting and Reed doing the link play but even that isn't ideal because Sammon doesn't score enough to play the lone role and I'm not sure he's suited to it anyway and Billy's a bit short. He did a similar role though at Donny.

Tbh, I just don't know anymore. We just seem to be in permanent transition due to the constant changing of managers.

In your opinion.

Which suggests you rate Sammon above McNulty as an out and out goal scorer.

Suffice to say I don't agree.

Where did I say that??
Alright. Let me put it slightly differently.

Which partnership scores the most. Sharp n Spark or Sharp n Fish ??

Over the course of a full season, which accounts for coming up against different defences.

You know where I stand on this.

I dont rate Sharp, McNulty or Sammon. So far with the Sharp and Sammon partnership our team has netted 7 goals to Sharp and McNulty's 4. Adkins rates Sharp and Sammon higher than I do, McNulty is a good finisher but I dont rate him much on other things

Looked like some kind of discussion going on between Billy and Baxter prior to missed pen. Didn't Billy miss one for Leeds just before joining us. Was it part of the deal when he joined us that he had to take all the penalties. Baxter is a decent penalty taker anyway, lack of professionalism cost us.
It looked to me from my position behind the goal as if Baxter gave the ball to Billy and said "Go on, bury it". I think it was his way of saying I'm too lazy to take it.
I thought Baxter and Sammon looked totally disinterested last night and both were lucky to stay on the pitch as long as they did. McNulty looked a lot more lively
when he came on and I would have given Wallace a chance as he gave us a boost against Bury when he came on. We were marking shadows for the 1st half
and fully deserved to go in 2 down. It could have been more. I thought they looked handy when they were doing their warm up routine and I know that's not
always a good guide but they were moving the ball about very quickly between each other. I think we need a good result against Bradford to settle everybody
down again and push on.

We got 0 shots on target until Sammon came on today. Just saying

Edgar a fault for two goals today. Surely he is in for a slating on here tonight? If that was mcevely or Collins we'd not hear the end of it.

Perhaps because Edgar is usually solid whereas McEveley in particular is always worse than shit. Scapegoat my arse.

I don't think Howard helped looked like neither had a clue what the other was doing.

Yes Sammon was superb when he came on and changed the game ;)

I will defer to your superior wisdom SB.

UTB
Jose changed the game for me and not Sammon but a lot of people won't like to hear or say that on here.

Edgar was wank today but wasn't helped by Howards' poor communicating. McEveley was also wank but we'll leave it at that and not get the McEveley lovers down :)
