Ancelotti: First Time Shooting

Last week when Ancelotti was talking about Calvert-lewin, he said in pre-season, he told him, if he wants to be a top striker, he needs to stop taking a touch. He said all top strikers just shoot with their first touch.

I'm sure all his goals this season have been 1st touch.

We could do with listening to that. We've played well today, two world class saves prevented us twice. But we do seem to take too many touches in and around the box. Sometimes is it better to just hit it?

It was definitely. We do seem to just need that extra touch though. We need to stop "pussy footing" around inside the box.... If we're allowed to say that in 2020!?

It's been a pattern of ours for a long time now. Sometimes it it crying out for us to have a pop at goal but we turn it down to try and work the perfect goal.

Sometimes, just get your shot away and work the keeper. Mix it up.

I recall McGoldrick had an opportunity towards the end of the 1st half, he had space to control it and get a shot away from the edge of the box. Instead he took a touch, looked up, turned round so he was facing our half, and passed it back. I was screaming at him to just hit it.

I've always said we should "belt the bastard" more. Frustrating.
