Yes I agree, like a lot I've slated him but was excellent tonight
 



Much is down to team performance. Throw him in the lineup of last season and he will look good. That goes for most players. It is not like Fleck, Stevens, etc lost their ability over the summer.

Confidence and the over all play of the team is a huge part of individual form and appearance.

Me too Yogi. I believe his most natural position would be Bash's which is always going to be very hard to shift, but he looked like a Chelsea player today.
 
Easily his best performance for us.. however for 80 minutes I could have played in defence today and not looked troubled.. tougher tests ahead for him.. but positive signs today.

I agree think he was brought in as a versatile Basham alternative. Let’s hope this breeds confidence for him in the system
 
We have Recalled Norrington Davis tonight, Ampadu and RND down the left could be a very good proposition going forward, 2 young hungry players, Bogle and Baldock on the right and moose and Brewster up top,

I didn't see the match live but listened on the radio so glad that everyone is giving him some good reviews.

We shouldn't forget how young a good chunk of our squad is.
 
Good defending and calm on the ball. Made sure Egan only had to concentrate on doing his own job and we defended much better as a result.
 
Hopefully his performance is a sign of him getting more used to the side.....
And not a result of Newcastle having just two forward thinking players in their team.
 
Another really good performance from him yesterday. I think his improvement has been key to our better form and performances as a team in the last few weeks. He's got a lot to learn but his ability to bring the ball out of defence and contribute in the final third is infinitely better than anyone else we've tried in the JOC role. I'd be looking to bring him back next season, especially if Jack leaves.

If JOC comes back into the team before the season is out, I would like to see us try Amps at RCB

Ampedu to miss fa cup qf, which is going to be a headache for wilder, I believe Robinson isnt good enough either at the back or going forward, so my opinion, and I'm getting ready for a lot of fuck offs is, Steven's if fit at left CB and Kean Bryan at left wing back as I believe that Bryan not only is one of the best crossers we have but hes not afraid of doing it, which this season is something that every fucker is afraid of.
Although I'm no avid watcher of Chelsea, rudiger is fucking awful at dealing with balls coming into the 6 yard area

Five genuine questions regarding Ampadu as I'm interested in the opinion of others, especially as he seems to have settled into a very decent player of late.
Providing JOC returns fit, is not sold and is prepared to play in the Championship for a promotion push:-

1) How much would Chelsea be wanting for Ampadu on a permanent fee, as I can't see them ever holding onto him to eventually break into their 1st team squad?
2) Would we as fans want him, possibly as good cover for numerous positions, or to play possibly further up the field?
3) Would CW want to have him as a permanent signing providing it fits within our budget?
4) Would he want to stay knowing he will get game time, yet accepting our restricted wage structure.
5) If not on a permanent deal, would you be happy to have him on loan and taking up one very valuable loan spot at a time we really need to address our attacking midfield problems?

I'd love him as Bash's successor. He's really grown into the wide centre back role, and will only get better

I'm pretty certain we'll have to make the most of him while we have him. If we get relegated, we have no chance of keeping him for a number of reasons IMO. Even if Chelsea were up to letting him go, I highly doubt we'd be willing or able to stump up the money. And if we did, he's done well enough to draw interest from other sides who will have Premier League prospects next year. If we stay in the Premier League, there's a slightly better chance. He's very highly rated at Chelsea and fans are keen to have him back. Of course Tuchel may have other ideas, but I think even if he decides against it, we'd be looking at £15-20 million for him. Would we pay that?

Money no object, I'd have him next year in a heartbeat. In addition to be superb cover across a number of positions, he'd be our long-term answer at RCB.
