He is a young lad who's come into a struggling team, agreed but he can't tackle and is poor in the air. Neither are good signs for a defensive midfielder or centre back, whichever he prefers.

Hard for a young player to come into a team that is a joke TBF. He hasn't performed that well, but neither have the senior players around him. For sure he will go on to better things.

It's not down to him...but it is not working for him or us. If we could change it I would. Obviously he could go on to do better elsewhere but whatever happens it wouldn't be with us so why bother keeping him around if we could get better in?

Not seen much of United this season because I record matches and if we lose don't bother watching. I did however watched a couple of Wales games specifically to look at Ampadu. I honestly thought he was shite, shouting and pointing a lot but offered very little else. His performances in those games were lauded by some Blades and by Wales supporters, so I thought it was just me. Looks like my gut feeling was right.

Alarm bells were ringing but I was prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt until their second goal yesterday. The ease with which Eze went passed him was simply not good enough. It’s not a one-off either, some of the ‘challenges’ he’s made for headers in the build up to goals we’ve conceded have been really weak and poor.

He obviously has some ability and in a better, stronger and more confident team I’m sure he would would contribute more. He’s clearly not what we need now but the problem is we have literally got nobody else to play in that position. Lundstram may come back in for the Newcastle game, so he may get dropped. Who knows. However, IMO fleck and Norwood have been more disappointing than Ampadu when you consider they are seasoned professionals who we know are capable of playing so much better than they currently are. He was a 19 year old kid when we signed him with a decent reputation but no premier league experience. We’re we expecting too much?

I’m afraid it was another poor signing that didn’t improve our starting 11. If the decision was to sign youthful promise in Ramsdale, Lowe, Bogle and Brewster then we should have used the loans better and tried to sign someone with some experience in the league, even if it involved paying higher wages or a loan fee. To sign Ampadu whilst leaving the other loan position unused is looking a very poor decision, albeit with the benefit of hindsight.

If Ampadu wasn't a Chelsea player he would be nowhere near the Wales team he is as weak as piss and fucking hopeless. If we don't play him it would be to Chelsea's advantage to take him back and loan him out to league one to toughen him up.

Don't think anybody is blaming Ampadu. Its just quite clearly evident that he's not cut out for a relegation scrap.

He's not good enough in midfield - can't tackle, doesn't win headers and his passing isn't great.

He's not commanding enough in defence either. If we are trying 4 at the back, neither is Basham. We need 2x Egans or an Egan and a JOC.

Ampadu will be a good player. He needs to be blooded in with good players around him - Europa/CL group games along side Chelsea teammates. A dogfight isn't helping him.

He would've been great for us last season.

I thought he looked decent at the start of the season when he dropped in at Centre Half.

I thought he was ok as a defensive holding midfielder. Gary Neville was talking last week about Declan Rice at West Ham being compatible to Dier at Spurs. A decent centre half, decent defensive midfielder but they don’t have the passing ability to be a really good midfielder. For me Ampadu is in that category. He’s an adequate back up in midfield but we need Norwoods distribution when Berge is out.

Ampadus form has also suffered like the team around him, but I think he’s a bit of a square peg (with rounded edges) in a round hole

I wouldn’t send him back unless we had someone better lined up though

Its that catch 22 situation though they are really low and lacking in confidence but the latter is what you need to get yourself out of this mess.

I`m just hoping they do really well against Bristol Rovers and this is the catalyst for the escape. Judging by the numbers it wont be a "2nd team outting" like past cup matches because we don't have enough players left fit. Hopefully CWAK will treat it like a PL match and put out the strongest team (I know before you say anything !) and we get a much needed win.

Berge? What good games as he had? Wouldn’t be hard to get anyone better than Ampadu?

I'm sure we could fit him in, he could play in a McG type roll, but we need a midfielder to carry the ball, go past his man, and create, and be a goal threat.
