Our Terry has made quite a few cock ups.
McCabe has shown very little ambition as far as the Blades on the field are concerned, in contrast his property ambition is to be admired.
Now can some one give me a reasoned debate on my opinions?
and can someone tell me who owns the freehold to BDTBL and are any securities held against it ?
Thank you.
I'd say based on what I've read recently, it's clear a loud majority don't agree with you BeightonBlade, but let's not let the facts get in the way of a quick one liner. I'm going to try to debate the merits of your statement.
You constantly refer to KB as 'cheap as chips', last I recall, KB came in at a time when we were perilously close to being one of the few clubs to be relegated from the Premiership and the Championship in consecutive seasons, not only did he come in on three days notice, he came in at that point essentially for free, focusing on the club first and his renumeration second, AND for a last day loss against Southampton, took us from nearly seeing our lowest ebb in 17 years to one match shy of the Promotion Playoffs. For that incredible result in short period of time, KB was rewarded with a contract, and last seasons took us to within
90 minutes of a return to the Premiership. But again, the facts matter not; especially when you've got a pithy nickname that suits your agenda do they?
Terry Robinson, I agree 110%. If we keep Terry around for his FA and FL contacts, fine. Then don't allow him any role in the transfer of players to and from the club.
On to McCabe's lack of footballing ambition. I'll ask a question of you; how much of his person fortune in
your opinion does our Chairman have to plough into this club, before you cease that ridiculous criticism? When he came in, we were languishing in the bottom end of Old Division One, heavily in debt to banks, represented by players who at a press might have been able to succeed at a mid level Division Two side, because they were all we were able to afford. McCabe has allowed us the financial freedom to bring in footballers who enable us to challenge for promotion, while ending our reliance on the banks, modernizing our ground, getting our name out in the world as a brand,
AND investing his own money into the club. Unfortunately, despite his wealth, McCabe is not some Russian oligarch, or Middle Eastern Sheik with more brass than sense, he's a business man who understands that a club has to be run as a business, it has to be self sufficient, if not then it will ultimately fail. Would you rather support a club operating within its means a perhaps a lower standing than you'd like,
OR no club at all because it operated outside its means, and went bust as it couldn't support itself? For me the answer is obvious, and I argue our Chairman is ambitious on the pitch but ambition has to be measured.
As for your last statement, I have no idea with the information you were seeking, I just sought to provide you with reasoned debate as you asked while, asking questions of you.
