2 facts this amazing team have created this season so far ,-Silent will put it right if i,m wrong.
1:: after a quarter of the season have we ever had the best defence in the top division.
I can go back to the time under John Harris early sixties with that renowned defence led by Cec & Joe,we had a great defence then but I doubt we ever conceded less than any other team after a quarter season.Would never happened pre - sixties as goals used to fly in pre - sixties at both ends.
2 : after a quarter season having played 5 of top six , we are in the top half.Thats difficult to judge as its changing all the time.,still a remarkable effort .
To achieve this with a team sprinkled with players who got two promotions in three years ( a period last night had all 11 players who got us up ) makes this even more remarkable, The accolades are coming thick and fast.
Can we maintain these standards ?
judging by the last 3 seasons the answer could be yes ! we seem to get stronger as the season progresses cwak seem to build as the season developes , will be harder this season playing against these world class players.
One thing for sure we are lighting up the premiership and the respect should follow.
