For at least the Leeds game, ideally up to Stoke at home, all players to wear Georges number 2. Keep their own numbers on their shorts - if needed for refereeing.

Make it happen Blades!

[Maybe auction them off for his family/ chosen good cause?]

God bless George UTB.

I'm pretty sure the club will find an appropriate way for supporters to pay tribute and condolences.
Must be difficult for all staff today as he was a work colleague and friend to many who remain.
Give them time to make arrangements as I'm sure they'll seek the blessing of his family in the days to come .

I'd expect they'll do something akin to that with the pre-match warm up gear. As Lord Eddard Muir has pointed out, there are probably EFL rules preventing this on actual match attire, but before the game we'd be allowed.

But yeah, a bit rushed to start looking at that stuff immediately. We've got over 2 weeks before the Leeds game, so that's loads of time for the club to make any arrangements they might want to set up. Better to spend time now just honouring his memory, and allowing those closest to him to grieve.

Missed the chance to edit so I'll do this instead

It is in the EFL rulebook. Players have to wear their respective registered squad number, on both shirt and shorts:

"When playing in a Match each Player shall wear a shirt on the back of which shall be prominently displayed his shirt number and above that his name so as to be clearly visible (and contrast with any design or pattern on the Shirt) in accordance with guidelines laid down by The League from time to time. At the start of each Season each Club must provide to The League on the appropriate form details of shirt numbers allocated to each squad Player"

How about a gold star with George's name or signature on every shirt, then auction them after the game?

Could they wear number 2 on the front of their shirt like a sponsor? Presume numbers are fine at the front for example when Chelsea had “3” mobile

I keep thinking the biggest thing we could do (as fans) would be incorporate him into the GCB at the start of the match...

something along the lines of "like watching George Baldock", instead of Like a Greasy Chip butty.

I am also struggling to keep reading some of these tributes so put it down to the ramblings of a sad man.

Perhaps warm up shirts would work?

Agree with some fellow posters, have all the players in number2 shirts to warm up in and then have a round of applause on the second minute, then go and win the game for Gearge, he'd love that!

Personally not into the around of applause crap.

Much prefer.
A minute silence before the Stoke game with a picture of Furious on the big screen.
With a video of George's time at United played before kick off (If there is enough time for the club to make one).
