... This one has gone disconcertingly quiet. All the excitement/anxiety about Burrows and Cooper is overshadowing the need to fill the biggest hole in our squad on the right side of defence. Anyone got any news on this (or Worrall)?

It seems to me if they ain't got you one way they've got you another. So what's the answer? That's what I keep asking myself - what's it all about? Know what I mean?

it has gone quiet but hopefully we can get gilchrist and worrall would be 2 great defensive signings and we need them badly
Would love to see Worrall as well, but if Anel stays and can get his Championship mojo back I would settle for Gilchrist.

well saw on here somewhere that anel had said he was staying so that maybe puts paid to worrall coming gilchrest is the more flexible being able to play rcb and rb and personally would love this lad to come in great prospect plus if anel can get his mojo back those 2 would make a great right sided defensive unit for us imo

Sorry mate, regarding Anel, just can't forget last seasons shit show, for somebody to down tools is unforgivable ( yes he wasn't the only one) get rid of the mardy twat!

yes cant disagree with you on him downing tools and that was unforgivable but if we dont sell him cant see anything else but him being our right centre back this season just need to get gilchrist in to play alongside him at right back

Would like this keep anel and looking like defence is almost wrapped up. Would like to see a good proven rb however would like to see siriki really push on and do the buisness

I remember seriki playing against forest a couple of seasons ago and he looked steady. Hopefully a run of games/sub appearances throughout the campaign and he can develop into a good asset.

Seriki has been on loan and struggled, but has the athleticism to make a career in the game at some level.
Realistically I do t think he’s reliable enough for this coming season and needs another loan to a league club. One probably struggling too so he gets plenty of practice and learning while pretty much assured a starting place.

As for Anel- same as others, he was a disgrace and has lost all credit he had banked. He’s open about the fact he thinks he’s bigger than the club and I do not like that. However, if nobody comes in for him he needs to be humbled by that and come out and admit it. Own his flaws, highlight them and say how he’s going to change and confirm it with his performances.
If, and only if he does that then I cannot see any future for him here with Wilder.

Wilder ain’t daft, he wants rid but knows he needs to get as much for him as he can so won’t publically assassinate his character. He will be championing him whenever he legitimately can.

Spot on.
Anel can fully fuck off for me though. Not half as good as he thinks he is and that red card against Forest was a total disgrace.

Defensively sound, would offer balance with the attacking options we now have on the left side, if we can get an attack minded right winger on loan, then this lad would be a better RB than Hoever for me.

So the Wolves lad is off then... if we have posters plugging the 'anyway...x would be better after all' line.

As is happens, I would agree. If we are attack minded down the left with the new players then maybe a more solid right back would be the better option as I did think two attacking fullbacks / wing backs was very adventurous.

Interesting. But absolutely nothing to do with Alfie Gilchrist.

I thought so too (interesting).

Something that is also interesting. Taken off Wiki.

Alfie Gilchrist (born 28 November 2003) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre-back or right back for Premier League club Chelsea.

So, if the Wolves lad transfer is off, then this lad could be the alternative for the right back slot.

Interesting thought isn't it.

Agree a better RB but my concern is that if we have a poor start I wouldn’t be surprised to see us default back to 532, then we’ll need a better RWB again

know a lot on here disagree but i think gilchrist would be very good for us at right back and even an upgrade on hoever if we can afford whatever salary chelsea want for him would be a fantastic loan signing
