suggested this lad ages ago on here great prospect and would be perfect for our right back spot definetly more of a baldock type full back and would surely choose us over preston only concern is millwall coming in for him as well he may well prefer to stay in london
I think he'll choose us over Millwall. He doesn't seem like the type to disregard sporting factors just to stay in London. He's been Chelsea's youth captain and isnt some fancy cunt. He'll be too driven to choose mid table over a promotion battle..... IMO

Even as a loanee , Chelsea will want to milk as much as they can from his contract . I suspect where he goes will come down to money.

This ticks a lot of boxes for me. We're desperate for a right back. He can also play right side of a three, so gives us a bit of much needed flexibility. A bit of a leader given he's Chelsea's academy captain. With Bogle and Baldock gone we should be able to give him a lot of game time, which Chelsea will want to see.

He’s one Chelsea are likely to be looking to sell next summer. If they think we’re likely to challenge we’d be a pretty attractive destination for them to send him to in order to increase any future fee either for us to be that future buyer if we go up or to raise his profile.

really hope your right think this lad would be a perfect fit for us very good right back who can also play rcb which would be useful for us in games we switch back to a back 3 fingers firmly crossed on this one

He's not a right back, he's a centre half first and foremost. Maybe he can play there, but I've not seen it whenever I've seen videos of him or whatever.

Predominantly he's a good centre half, stopper, blocker type.
Maybe if we've got Burrows on the left that's what we're after on the right for a 4, don't know.

If we plan on playing the way we set up at Chezzy, I wouldn't be shocked to see Burrows given free reign to attack down the left, with Gilchrist (or whoever else we target for RB) tucking in to make a back 3 in possession. Seems like it could be the best way to get some balance in our back 4 given how poor Burrows stats are defensively.

Could be the only reason why I see it as a potential.

He is too small to be a central defender. Comes on at right back for Chelsea. Would rather we sign a proven player seen as though we just sold the best right back in the league and now loaning a youth prospect from Chelsea.

I was thinking the same. Might be like the Arsenal model of having proper defenders in a back 4. Which I like as it lets the players ahead have far more freedom.

Watched him at RB against liverpool and didn't look like he lacked physically to play CB, calm on the ball, seemed similar to Anel.

Also saw highlights of him at LB and he seemed ok. Would be great if we are going to use a back four that moves to a three to allow Burrows forward.

Jags is 5'11" ...didn't do too badly.

We definitely need cover so could be a good loan if true .
I'm not doubting that's listed as his official height but I'm 5'11" and Jags is certainly taller than me

We were interested in Gilchrist before I seem to recall but it was a permanent signing if he rejected a deal from them, have I remembered that right?

He’ll be a left back by the time we’re done with him
