Rob Staton has pitched in now, looks like there's been movement as he said Wilder has confirmed we'll be making a signing before the weekend and he's hoping for two.

Yep, must be from his pre-match press interview for RS.

Kent off to the Bundesliga I think & Roberts off to Celtic again. Bakary Sako is a good shout, if he regains any sort of from that he had a couple seasons back at Wolves he'd tear this league a new arsehole.
Marcus Edwards is too much like brooks, lookman would be decent, he can play striker as well.

Wendy Statton is a bit slow. Wilder said this after the Leicester game whilst Wendy was allegedly reclining the seat in the Bolton car park with Piggy Pearson.

Maybe Lolley or Mr Ambitious are the most likely.

Don't see anything happening with Lenihan or Leonard yet.

That would leave a striker as the other possibility. Who could that be? James Wilson maybe?

According to Wagner, Lolley will be part of the first team squad and is close to the first team so don't see that one happening

Well whoever it is best be good after all the build up on here.

The days of meltdown are set to the past I hope

says were after a wide man on loan and it's very ambitious as lolley is the second choice to this mystery player.. Alan is usually spot on.

He's 100% accurate when he doesn't name the player or his club. He's being nearly as cryptic as E89.

Billy just like one of Alvaro Moratas posts on Twitter. Sign?

He'd score goals at this level, would be a good signing.

Nixon now saying 'his club has to decide where he goes'.

That would indicate it isn't Murphy, but a promising youngster.

So maybe Kent, Boga or Lookman?

Can't imagine it being the attacking option if lolley played last night and the other one is an ambitious target.

Think it's more likely to be defensive reinforcements with stearmans injury.

Needlessly harsh – he's simply updating from today's interview. As well we know from our dealings in the transfer market, what looks like being a deal before the weekend at the start of the week can change by the end of the week. The news here is that we're still on course to make those signings. Welcome news too.

For me it points to it being Ryan Kent although as I said earlier I'm sure i read he is off to Germany

Alan Biggs on twitter saying at least one signing is a certainty for sat - but no one has a clue who it is.

Very rare in this day and age but then stearman was announced with barely a peep. Same with baldock

Nixon wouldn't say 'very good player' if it wasn't a very good player, so here are a few possible names...

Ryan Kent
Ademola Lookman
Patrick Roberts
Marcus Edwards
Jamie Murphy
Bakary Sako
Jeremie Boga

Most likely to be Murphy though IMO. Being Scottish himself maybe Nixon is likely to big Murphy up a bit. And like Huddersfield, Brighton have recently brought in attacking midfielders which could have made him available.

Any of the above please

No Wilder said he hoped to get one or two in before the weekend after the Leiciester match, he's now saying we WILL sign one, hopefully two, hence whey I said there must have been some movement on at least 1.

I would love it to be Colin Quaner. The way he ripped the pigs a new one in the playoffs he showed exactly the attributes we’re lacking. Pace, power, height, direct running. He’d really add something different to our squad.

I thought about him too, he's only been on their bench recently and given that he signed for them in the Championship, he shouldn't be on massive wages.

He can play right wing or up front, so would be ideal.

Could be one to look at in January if not now.

I've a friend at work who is a Hudds season ticket holder, loves to take the p1ss out of Colin, he doesn't rate Quaner at all. Extremely clumsy footballer, he should be dominant in the air but he's the opposite infact ducks from aerial challenges, but does say he is a trier & can be capable of producing a good performance every 10 or so.

Think there is a hell of a lot of difference between what a business man / football manager says and actual fact.

Theoretically
He may have been in their plans with an offer of £250k on the table but when that was increased to £500k he was not as the additional £250k was used to supplement other monies to buy a player they wanted.

Snap shot in time

Fair enough. I've only seen him a couple of times but on both occasions, he looked like exactly what we could do with. Big, strong, pacey and direct. Like I say, changed the game when he came on against the pork. But these snapshots don't compare with a lot of experience of watching a player over time.

Jeez, he sounds like Connor Sammon.
