Someone very rich is piling millions into Brentford (I will have to look his name up again). We probably can't match their money or ambition this season. Maybe next season

He is a hedge fund manager worth millions.

I've had an ante post bet on Brentford at 16/1, and also got them in an ante-post place pot.

I'm sure you're right but he can't but them tradition, infrastructure (at least not immediately) or a threefold increase in their fanbase.

A large majority of players would opt for the Blades, all other things being equal.

I'm sure I read somewhere that we now have a rich Prince on board. FFS...if we can't compete with the likes of Brentford......

We dont have an ethos anymore

Yes but they've said they will spend money in the coming summer.

Brentford are spending now and in all likelihood will go up.

Anyone who witnessed them comprehensively dismantle us earlier this season will have seen why.

One of my best friends supports Brentford and says this is the best side he has seen in 50 years.

The point I was making is they are spending now.

I can see them becoming a west London version of Crystal Palace, especially when they build a 20,000 stadium and bring affordable football to West London. Having said Griffin Park will be sorely missed with its pubs on each side of the ground. Especially the Griffin.

I am a bit of a loss at that with regard to Murphy. I have described him as an eginma before and hoped that Clough might set him on the right direction but he seems on recent performances to be a waste of time. Wrong decisions, no pace, lightweight and always cutting inside. The only thing in his favour is that I have never seen him play as he was played in Scotland which is breaking from centre just behind the striker.

For me, he's had his chance and won't cut it.
Murphy and Baxter would be good enough in the Championship as long as they have the right players supporting them. In my option for what Murphy is costing the club, he is a player we should give another season at the Lane to see how he develops.

Depends on significantly more than that. What about his wages maybe Brentford were offering to cover more of his wages, maybe we wanted a permanent deal but he would have to agree to reduced terms (League one after all). Given that it's being reported as a loan, maybe he wanted to wait until the summer to make a big decision on his career. All sounds sensible to me.
You are also all assuming we were strongly in for him and didn't backout ourselves.
