I think we are desperate for a goal scorer, 19 League 1 goals is an absolute disgrace and this highlights that if we concede we will always struggle to win. King was a massive let down.

I would be disappointed if Murphy goes. Why is Porter still earning a living at BDTBL, he is a very poor target man.

I think some Blades are getting a bit giddy with thoughts of possible players coming in. Plenty of them seem wildly unlikely.

To be honest I'm more excited at the prospect of getting rid of a few. I've heard (from people on here I mean, I'm by no means in the know!) that we might be looking to get shut of two players for every one we bring in. I'd be delighted then if we brought three in and got shut of six. I wouldn't even care if the three that came in were rubbish, at least we'd be a net three rubbish players fewer!

If we don't bring a decent striker in we have had it. We need 3 or 4 decent additions to be confident of even staying up. Apparently Clough wants to sign White. Why?? Is that the sort of "game changer" signing we can look forward to?

I think Judge can play wide, but if he did we'd probably have to play a more solid midfielder on the other flank, or sacrifice one of the front two (no big deal of recent showings!)

I already think that having two upfront and Baxter behind is a bit much myself. The right flank yesterday was totally exposed for most of the match.

What worries me is that when I think of Judge, I don't remember him getting round the pitch well. We need to be more mobile in the middle of the park to accommodate players like Baxter and McGinn so we don't need another.

Totally agree, however I don't want to replace him with someone similar. I would prefer someone in the centre who can get up and down the pitch

The squad is so bloated at the moment that getting shut of a load and bringing no-one in would still be an improvement, if only for the wages saved.

Sheffielder, I imagine Judge would be playing wide, although admittedly the way I see it working if he signs (and I don't think he will) is a return to the dreaded 4-2-3-1.

Fully agree with that. He might have been an irritating bugger when he played for Notts County but adding another little un to the midfield line is very lower division thinking

I am really glad of this to be honest. Our team needs mobility. from 1-11 we have nobody who can get across the pitch, no athletes and most have the same turning speed of the titanic. This and being probably the most unfit team ever.

I am a bit of a loss at that with regard to Murphy. I have described him as an eginma before and hoped that Clough might set him on the right direction but he seems on recent performances to be a waste of time. Wrong decisions, no pace, lightweight and always cutting inside. The only thing in his favour is that I have never seen him play as he was played in Scotland which is breaking from centre just behind the striker.

For me, he's had his chance and won't cut it.

Actually it's an obvious choice. I don't want to come over all S6, but SUFC are a significantly bigger club than Brentford with much greater potential. Anyone with real ambition would choose the Blades every time.

The best answer of this thread. Box to box midfielders can be difficult to persuade to come to a club in 5th from bottom of the table so offer him the club captaincy and he probably will come to us

Someone very rich is piling millions into Brentford (I will have to look his name up again). We probably can't match their money or ambition this season. Maybe next season
