Been sacked by Coventry. An ideal manager for us in my eyes get him now, at least he can see players like Doyle are garbage.

I know he hasn't done great for Coventry but i think he is exactly what we need a young manager with new ideas.

Dave, you're being sarcastic surely?

Micky Adams = Aidy Boothroyd = Kevin Blackwell and so on and so on.

If (and when) Adams goes, we need a totally different direction as it's clear that direct football and motivation is not the answer in the short or long term.

No seriously Houso i think he would be good for us, we can't afford big time managers, so i think with him being 40 years old he could bring some new ideas especially in league 1 (the league we will be in next season).

At this point I think anyone would be an upgrade to Micky. Unfortunately he just keeps on making really bad decisions. Personally I would give it Pembo at this point as all hope is almost gone

i hate boothroyd, another hoofball no mark who people think is incredible because jay demerit and marlon king single handedly got watford promoted.

anyway, boothroyd isnt a player, its players we need, its the squad thats garbage, and these crap managers weve got have only further highlighted that.

I kind of expected your opening post to be shot down in flames if I'm honest. Appointing a manager who has been on a similar run of form as ours and is perceived to be from a similar school of thought, is a little bit of a sideways idea. It would be like giving Micky the equivalent of a two year pay out and then keeping him on with a one year extension. What would be the point?

I think in our situation we might as well let the current manager get on with it now. To change again would be laughable after the season we've had. If he moves on voluntarily we need to start thinking outside of the norm and do something original. Aidy Boothroyd, with the gretest respect is not the answer to that.

This has got to be a wind up? Watford aside, what has he ever done?

think he had some sort of coaching role with dirty leeds before watford, and they just hoofed it and bullied there way to the prem, then they were found out.to set boothroyd on would be a massive mistake, just think of all the moaning from the fans then about the brand of football that would be played

thing is he has a virtually identical record to MA and yet the cov. board saw fit to get rid.. yet we...??

1 win in 16 isn't good enough for any team in any division in any country in the world,so it's no surprise that Aidy has gone

I'll say it again, a replacement for Adams would be...

I think the best thing Micky Adams could do is to turn round and walk away, and admit the job is beyond him.

He has been a disaster from start to finish.

For a new manager, what about getting someone like Paul Ince in?

He's not exactly pulling up trees at Notts County and failed miserably at MK Dons second time around. Keith Hill, John Sheridan (although the majority wouldn't give him a chance) or Karl Robinson would be young, up and coming managers worth considering IMO.

A similar argument was made about Micky.

Yet again I would make the point that there are better managers than both Micky and Aidy either out of work or in league one.

mmm,but could he work on a shoestring budget ?

When we go down, I think there will be a bit of a squad overhaul. (Hasn't it been rumored that contracts will be bought out?) I think he'd instill a good footballing philosophy that Pembo is already doing with the kids, and if we give him the summer he has time to asses which players to keep, which kids could make the step up to the first team squad, what players to use form the development squad and add one or two. He's managed League 1 before, I'm sure he must know of a gem or two he could bring in.

Ray Ransom (Cov Chairman and ex pro) stated today that in his opinion Coventry has the best squad it has had for years.
Not sure the Blades board would accept that we have anything like a decent squad considering how many are loans and how many are, . . . .well, . . . . shit.

Bobby Gould has been linked with the job around these parts and also our old mate "Hoofy"
Wonder if he would love to get hold of Coventry and lift them away from the drop zone to take one more club out of the equation?

More chance of appointing Keith Lemon

Nowt to do with Ashley Young and Adam Johnson then?

Thing is Watford were good a picking some of the best loan players available, whereas we are not quite at the same level.

I remember Foster playing a blinder for them v us at the Lane in the prem, Tonge's goal was a deflection. If it were not for that he'd have got them a point I'd have thought. He was a good loan for them.

If Aidy Boothroyd is the answer then what's the question?

"Which ex-Coventry manager is a more irritating little fuckbox than Sammy Lee, with less personality than Steve Coppell and all the charisma of Dennis Wise in the back of a taxi?
