Someone with a physical presence, and someone that is willing to take a second to actually think about what they are doing on the ball

now, we just need the other one next to him replaced and we are good to go!

Couldn't agree more.

The only problem is that we all know that as soon as Monty The Pantomine Horse is fit he will be straught back into the starting XI.

I would really like to see JJ & Hendrie together in the middle, I think that would work quite well.

Sorry, I'm a little bit confused here....

i thought it would be an awful deal, he is another player that is not good enough.

???????????? is this "right" midfielder the same guy?

I'd put "The Pantomine Horse" (who just happens to have been one of our better player of late) in for Quinny. Savage had far too much time on the ball and space in midfield. Resulting in plenty of possession for Derby within our half, put more pressure on the defence.

Quite agree it was nice to see the ball being controlled and played on the floor. A thought here.... maybe Howard is the man alongside JJ if we are playing football?

I think when monty is fit it should be him alongside JJ, but if that doesnt work bring hendrie in when he is fit again. I disagree with the comment about savage having lots of space, I thought we prevented him playing any significant role in the game, he resulted to hoofing the ball on or hopeful balls to the forwards. Only near the end of the match did it open up a bit for savage and the two wingers (who looked really good).
I cant fault JJ's game yesterday, he was so much better than we what we have been accustomed too (monty/squinn/howard). Great performance!

The midfield did look a lot better yesterday! I still think Quinn is the weak link though. So id go with the Howard comments. Could give him a go and see what happens!

*cough*...............

Kenny
Naughton Killa Morgan Naysmith
Cotts JJ Hendrie Halford?
Ward Henderson

With the ability of Cotts & Halford being able to switch flanks every now and again, that team is premiership material, is it not?

Barring the front two...The jury's still out on them IMO

Personally, I don't think we should be pinning a full Premiership season on any outfield player who's over 30 years of age which means we'd need younger cover for left back, centre back and central midfield.

I'm not saying retire Morgan, Naysmith and Hendrie off to the knackers yard yet... but there's a reason Naysmith, Sun Jihai etc. dropped down a division to carry on getting regular football. Now is the time to start looking at some development players... while the experience is still there to bring them through.
