The ST renewals are safely in the coffers, so it's safe for Mr Nigel Adkins to have a pop at the fans now. He's not going to take any of the blame himself, is he? When a pilot glides a plane into the side of a mountain, it's not the pilot's fault, it's the passengers' fault for shouting "pull up, pull up!" too loudly for the last ten months.

Very little wrong with that interview IMO. We have quite easily got onto players backs at times, or at least been very quiet. Me included. We've not exactly gone home hoarse most matches have we?

No I know there's not been much to shout about before you all pile in.

His retained list will be very interesting - for what it's worth I think he'll be here next season.

Chicken and egg BoS. The fans want entertaining but the team needs encouragement. Either way, the character of the players (something Adkins has repeatedly brought up) has been totally wrong.

Agree on the retained list and on the incumbent manager in July. He'll know he's out of excuses at the end of preseason too.

I have not called for the managers head, ever. I thought sacking Wilson was a crazy move. I heard that Clough walked out rather than was pushed, but it could be that he was sacked. Adkins is baffling because his CV shows he can get teams gelling and get promotion, but his long winded chasing of Dean Hammond, only for the guy to arrive unfit (or legs gone, or whatever), and then to continually play him when he was clearly not match fit, less pace than Paul Coutts and passing straight to the opposition, was hard to understand.

I know some managers want their old players around them (Clough with Brayford, Coutts, Freeman), and to be fair to Woolford, he was actually one of the better players yesterday (and did not deserve jeering off), but with the exception of Sharp, Adkins needs to look closely at his decisions.

I disagree, when Adkins was appointed there were very few dissenting voices, because of his record and what potential he was bringing. Some (like myself) questioned the plan of getting rid of Clough, but the appointment of Adkins wasn't seen as anything except positive, in the main.

The questioning of Adkins came, when, after a full preseason he:

- Did nothing to address the centre half issue
- Did nothing to address the Centre mid issue
- Did nothing to move players out (natural wastage as a minimum)
- We got hammered, convincingly 4-0 on the opening day

It was very apparent that for the first half of the season Adkins was a puppet for the board, dancing to their tune, only in January when we weren't miraculously run away leaders did they react and start giving Adkins a bigger say

Swiss , agree with you , but do you really think Adkins was a puppet for the board , dancing to there tune .

To me Adkins from the debacle at Gillingham , perhaps lost some trust with both the board and players .blot on the landscape as lasted all season . Just don't know who is right or wrong at the lane or were we are going Swiss. Just too much head in the sand and not enough facing up to fact IMO.

Yes we have had very good reason too at times but let's be honest, we all expected top 6 minimum, nobody expected a walloping on the opening day of the season. Nobody expected to be in league one for 6 seasons and counting and nobody, including NA I bet expected to finish 11th. He has to realise the frustrations we are going through. It's easier for him, he's only been here 12 months. If he's hurting how the bloody hell does he think we feel??!! Right or wrong it was an uncalled for, unprofessional cheap shot.
The retained list will be very interesting. I expect a couple to be kept on. Anymore would be a disaster. We are told the current squad "isn't a million miles away" from what we want to achieve. I couldn't disagree more. You can count on 1hand the number of games we have looked promotion material this season

I've perhaps over exaggerated the point, but he was certainly doing what they wanted until the Jan transfer window closed. The only thing that went his way was bringing Edgar and Hammond as they were clearly his choices

Sounds to me like he is on his way as he slagged off the fans on several occasions.

When asked about substitution of Hammond he blocked it by saying he doesn't have to justify his subs to the reporter.

Said we'd been on fire in training but it was hot today and we didn't carry the intensity into the game. Maybe they trained too hard (well that puts your computer based stats packages on player energy and performance into cock, then)

Been here before and knows crowd can be on players backs - it's always been the same and will in all probability continue to be so.

Shifted out 25 players and bemoans fact that he has brought in fewest number of players in the league. Two perm and 4 on loan.

Crowd was moaning from first game of season (who fucking wouldn't being stuffed 4-0 at Gillingham) and its continued on for the rest of the season.

Sitting down with all players one on one next week to determine their futures.

Well let's hope they all fuck off and Adkins with them.

I said he sounded like he knew he was on his way "a dead man walking " and that last interview was a final opportunity for him to say how he really feels - and he took it.
Sorry it didn't work out for you Pos Nige

You're so clearly not as waffly versatile as these fellers

I'm an Adkins fan but that interview was definitely not his best and clearly a case of putting the mike to early to a manager under pressure straight after the game. Of course that's not the fault of Radio Sheffield but on other occasions Adkins has been very complimentary to our fans and he's talked about how rocking it can be here. Clough criticised the fans at times too, people forget that. As others have said Adkins is probably on his way, which I think will be a mistake but there you go.
It was a mistake, surely.
