Sounds to me like he is on his way as he slagged off the fans on several occasions.

When asked about substitution of Hammond he blocked it by saying he doesn't have to justify his subs to the reporter.

Said we'd been on fire in training but it was hot today and we didn't carry the intensity into the game. Maybe they trained too hard (well that puts your computer based stats packages on player energy and performance into cock, then)

Been here before and knows crowd can be on players backs - it's always been the same and will in all probability continue to be so.

Shifted out 25 players and bemoans fact that he has brought in fewest number of players in the league. Two perm and 4 on loan.

'Re the fans he says they have let their feelings be known from game one, always have always will; he's only half questioning the lack of value in that. Says he's learned a lot, shifted loads of players and will take it from there "all being well".

Have we ever played fast football under Adkins? At Coventry last week it was a game played at two paces. They had movement, runners and slick passing. We had sideways tediously slow build ups swapping 4 passes for 24. We have been crying out for the tempo to be upped all season. We don't have one player with the ability to run at the opposition

When he said he'd been here with Scunthorpe and the fans were the same is he so ignorant to realize that those years were when we had Robson as manager and we were potentially looking at a relegation battle in our first season down and was the final few games of Robson's turgid reign. What does he expect from fans in those situations??
