Adkins not part of the problem ?

All managers are yes men else they resign or get sacked. I'm more concerned about if there men to well thought out strategy, and if the club processes are in place to carry out this strategy. Nobody cares if there "yes" men then. Clough apparently wasn't a yes man in his second season when it came to transfer strategy. Does anybody want this "no" man back?

I honestly don't think you can keep sacking manager after manager and then expect to get results.

Man Utd had Matt Busby and Alex Ferguson in charge for over a 1000 games each and between them they won 18 first division titles, 15 Charity Shields, 7 FA Cups and 3 European Cups.

Arsenal have had George Graham and Arsene Wenger for around 1400 games and between them they have won 5 first division titles, 7 FA Cups and 7 Charity Shields.

Liverpool Paisley and Shankly

Before all the money Barca had Johan Cruyff for 8 years and was easily their most successful manager.

At some point you need to back a man and stick with him.. I'm not suggesting Adkins shares the same stage as the above but most success for clubs without billions to spend comes from consistency.

But you have to have the right man to stick with in the first place, nothing about Adkins suggests to me that he is

How many managers, currently in a job have said this?

The good ones that are winners !
Let's face it - Football management is a black art sometimes you win sometimes you lose - nowadays football owners are that desperate for success that you can get fired a matter of months after taking the job !
If the board is at fault say so - at least then you have identified where the problem lies or is it that Adkins, Clough, Weir, Adams, Wilson, et al are all useless and the board is brilliant - and lets face it I am sure that Messrs Mourinio, Rodgers, Moyes, Sherwood, and to a much lesser extent Redfearn & Robins, were well compensated when they got the bullit !

We are all entitled to our opinion... if we are going to sack him the end of the season/now would be a good time as this would have the minimum impact on a new man coming in. The only signings he would inherit are Woolford and Sharpe so I would be happy to take the hit on Woolford. 15/16 players would also be released leaving plenty of room for the new person to bring in his own players.

However some of the reasons above are reasons I think Adkins hasn't been given a fair chance yet as he inherited a large squad with little room for manoeuvrability. I do actually think the majority of players he has bought in are an improvement on what we had. Hammond, Edgar, Sharpe. I think Sammon was already a done deal leaving Woolford as the only fault really.

If it was stick or twist I would stick.

I just wish that Akins could energise these players to run through walls, to play for each other, to concentrate, to care.

They may be collectively poor, but any decent manager will produce a team that is greater than the sum of its parts. He hasn't, and i am really disappointed about that.
