Adkins' managerial ranking

No, if you wanted 10 years I would talk about the entire team Blackwell had that McCabe dismantled or his ridiculously badly timed sacking of Wilson, Blackwell and Clough. Not to mention selling our leading scorer Blackman a couple of years back. But you keep believing he's done a great job. Weirdo
blackman,,,, really

the man who left and scored 18 goals in the next 3 years

oooh we missed him didnt we

leading scorer , yes more than half penalties

Ill accept losing certain players can be detrimental
but not this one

over that period Porter scored way more
be wanting him back next

blackman signed for derby this year , failed to register once in 16 outings

and you call me weird , your bemoaning a non scoring forward

Not sure I buy the sweeping statements regards some of our managers.

Take Robson who replaced Warnock. He was told we needed to play possession football, a passing game because Warnocks style was seen as old fashioned. Robbo did have us controlling possession in early games. However it was a culture shock to the supporters, loads of possession but NEVER looking like scoring. However in fairness the opposition never looked like scoring either. The matches lacked any kind of goal mouth action and were boring.
In later months he tried to play more a more direct Warnock style but it confused the players and some played patient passing and some were direct meaning we were all over the place.

Take Blackwell. He was told to bring back the direct Warnock style and passion. To be fair in the 1st season with the pressure off, he was really good with plenty of exciting uptempo matches. The problem with Blackwell is that he tried to copy the Warnock and was a disciplinarian leading to player fall outs which he couldn't repair. Whereas Warnock had much more charisma and could fall out badly with players but later win them round. I also though Blackwelll struggled to handle the pressure when in his 2nd season.

Take Weir. Similar to Robson he was told to adopt the Barcelona tippy tippy style and it was impressive in his 1st match against Notts County. However we lost Kevin Mcadonald and his plan fell down. Felt a bit sorry for him as he was obsessed with playing a passing return possession game. We looked great around the centre circle area but never looked like scoring etc

Clough I'm still not sure about.
He seemed great at some things and shockingly poor at others.
I sensed that NC was quite clever in that he wanted slow and steady progress each season.
It's ironic that a manager that can provide instant success is nearer getting the sack whereas NC seemed to provide just to right amount of progress to stay in the job.

Adkins seemed a bit of a con man, spoke really well but it was all words.
He was almost too positive and some of his comments made no sense
He only had my support becusse he had this fantastic track record, so he must be good.
I can summarise that;

Robson - too drunk

Blackwell - too shit

Weir - too naive

Clough - too slow

Adkins - too full of shit.

Given that we were the bookies favourites to win the League, the biggest wage bill (according to McCabe) and in light of the Hammond extension, is it fair to say that Adkins is the worst manager we've ever had - or is he still ahead of Peters and Weir?
David Wier nearly got use relegated, but he used his links extremely well unlike Adkins, bringing in players like Coady, while Adkins used his Southampton links to bring in no one, instead he used his past to help bring in useless piles on nonsense and s*** like Woolford and Hammond. Wier would have been a great assistant manager to have in the ranks, a great coach but not a manager, did everything right apart from on the day of the game, therefore in conclusion ADKINS IS THE WORST EVER MANAGER, due to three things, boring and useless style of play, awful use of links(apart from sharp) and as he spent more time on a sunbed then getting the team organised by the look of him.

What was our league position when we sold our leading scorer?

Reading about all the shite that we've employed as managers makes me glad that I was lucky enough to follow the Blades under John Harris and his table topping '71 team

Gentleman John had more talent in his little finger than all our recent managers put together although I feel that Tufty could be the man...

same as what it was with the other 10 playing
including those that won the many penalties he scored

are you really saying his average 6 a season would have helped us

really

what position were we in the league when we sold our top scorer?

we were in league one , we still are

wherever we were doersnt alter one glaring fact

Blackmans goal ratio , seeing as you had a go at my like ratio
is that of a full back
2016 blackman goal collection is the thinnest volume in the world

I'll help you. We were top. He was scoring goals. You know what makes it more important, he was the only one. We weren't scoring many goals.

As usual you fill your posts with irrelevant bilge that means nothing. Blackman was scoring goals in our division and when he went up a division he struggled. He was young and had potential. That was relevant to us because after he left we stopped scoring.

I know you will continue to defend the indefensible and good luck with that. McCabe is the main reason we are where we are. Selling all those good players hasn't helped us one bit. Probably be Che this season.

weve been top on around 19 occasions in this league

means diddly squat unless its in may

your the buffoon defending a goal shy forward
weve been top with porter in the side
you do spout some incomprehensible crap

We will always be bookies favourites, purely and simply because odds are manipulated by the amount of money going on a team. As we have more fans than any other club betting on us, guess who makes us favourites. It's got FA to do with the manager.
The Hammond thing is blown out of all proportion He was jut one player for heavens sake..
There's been one manager who signed 30/40 players and only one will make a profit, no others will get a bigger wage or club, some were utter crocks and were a massive waste of money, collectively adding up to way way more than Hammond. His transfer balance sheet is massively negative.(e,g £2.5m for Scougall, Done, and Beard- all way over their true worth) He wasted more money in wages, sign on fees and transfer money as a turnover proportion that makes Robson look frugal. Clough's recruitment of players alone make ihm the worst manager in the clubs history.
We get the usual bollocks of 'Adkins inherited a play off squad ' where as in fact they only made the play offs due to record low points being available for a play off spot The fact is amazingly Adkins got us closer points wise to the autos than Clough did. Of course Adkins had a huge wage budget; largely cos he inherited a mid table side, with scores of players on over bloated contracts, that was slow, hugely unbalanced, and a mile away from autos. .
Clough's utter shambolic recruitment of players alone makes him the worst manager in the clubs history.
CW recognised right away what depth of surgery was needed to cut out the Clough cancer.

God you talk some shit ,'the worst manager in the clubs history' ?? For fuck sake he isn't in the top 10 ,if you think hes worst than Robson, McEwan ,Weir ,Heath ,Adkins ,you are either delusional or you have a personal issue with him and his family who you have a clear obsession with. Funny how the surgery Wilder recognised straight away has included keeping all 3 players you froth about and also Adams who he recruited for a pittance and will now bring over a million into the club. You cant just make stuff up and pass it off as fact. I wasn't even going to mention the long unbeaten run after inheriting a disaster from apparent better manager Weir at he bottom of the league ,or the amazing cup runs which real supporters enjoyed immensely and brought massive amounts of money into the club. Stick to the cricket because you really haven't a clue about football management.

We will have to disagree.
He presided over the most unsuccessful recruitment policy in the clubs history. Whoppe he signed Adams big fecking deal he pissed millions more on over bloated wages, transfer fees, contracts and sign on fees.
He spent way more than he brought in, left a legacy of utter financial incompetence and the most unbalanced bunch of shit I've ever seen.
The facts speak for themselves.

Shit, I was all prepared to have a go at replying to some stuff BTL had brought to the table and bloody Davie has trumped him for talking shite.
Ahh well, it can wait for another day.

Someone point Alcoblade to BTL talking about Blackman as I can't be arsed.

Davie mate, he just isn't the worst. Nowhere near Martin Peters territory for a start. Now that was bad.

Can you list these transfer fees and contracts that you harp on about compared to the money he brought in instead of just repeating the same old false statements time after time ?

One of the biggest cunts to ever manage gets above peters but that's it for me Heath and weir didn't have full seasons.

What a fuck up last year was - dean bastard Hammond says it all
