Dont want to steal William Henry Foulkes thunder but just heard his interview. Key points that stood out to me

Thought we played great football in the first half
Poor goals to concede
The players will be mortified when they look back at the defending
Third goal should never have happened. Should have stopped him way before
With the experience we have the third goal should have been snuffed out
Thanks the support for sticking with players
Togetherness demonstrated again today
Spirit amongst the players, a desire to do well
Took McEverley off because he had been booked and Maddison was a lively character
Done injury not as bad as first feared
Size of the budget and squad needs to be addressed but important to improve too
Might be at the end of January before we make a move in the market, working hard behind the scenes
Hopes to bring a couple in but can't guarantee it
Some players may be out of contract at the end of the season but they are still having a go
Going to be an interesting month
Keep it out at one end, stick it in on the other
Trying to work out a style of football that is entertaining

After listening to NA i seems pretty much a certainty that we won't have any incomings,i think it all depends on how many he can ship out.

I am resigned to us playing basically the same faces that are currently getting in the side, and that will result in us missing out on even the playoffs.

Summer time Adkins will have to rebuild.

Double speak for very few incomings other than Hammond, same old transfer window by the looks of it.

At least today's display has dispelled any myth that we don't need to strengthen at the back !

And up front! A lot of people have been saying that we've got enough up front. No way. Once that useless lump Sammon had been pulled off it was Sharp and, er, Sharp. Briefly it seemed that NA thought that Baxter could do a 'like-for-like' i.e. suddenly become a domineering target man. Well, that was never going to work was it?

There's just been a good call on FH that said 'As soon as it was obvious that Done was injured, why wasn't McNulty recalled?' Why indeed.

There it is again.....

Boring. Same year in year out. They can do one as far as I'm concerned. It's like watching the same anti climactic movie over and over.

Glad I live too far away to go anymore. Supporters being mugged off.

It didn't come across nearly as negative to me. Very honest that we had to ship a load out first - no shit Sherlock.

I'd prefer that we make a couple of signings and take our time. We don't need any more stocking fillers. But then again, I'm resigned to not being promoted this season.

"Might be at the end of January before we make a move in the market".

Wow we haven't heard that one before!

Hasn't Adkins got any new lines or is that just the old rerun comment passed down from the board that we hear every year.
Perhaps it's true. Why not judge at the end of Janiary?

"Same old transfer window" ... as in Brayford, Coutts, Freeman, Done in the same old transfer window last year?
Why do people keep coming out with this bollocks. I am not saying we will be bringing in lots of players in this JTW, but it's demonstrably untrue that we never bring players in.
We did last January and we did in the summer. Whether they have all succeeded is questionable I agree but "very few incomings" is simply not true.
Fewer incomings, but better, is actually what we need.

His hands are tied. We have 42 professional players in league 3. He has got to ship out best part of 20 players before he can realisticly alter very much.
Who would want them? Most of that 20 are poor players on, probably, very high wages. They aren't going to leave for less money, who would, so we are stuck until their contracts are up.

Sad, but reality I think.

That is worrying, the defence has been the weak link last year and this, reinforced recently by packing midfield, yet NA is implying a month will pass before it might be addressed if at all. If he has to shift a crop of this squad before bringing anybody in it isn't going to be great transfer window. We might well have been unlucky today but if you don't convert the chances when they come along we will continue to be hit and miss with our defence.

So it may be Feb before we get some c/h's?

Unbelievable Geoff

Unless I was mistaken his words were "the very very end of January".

We are selling. I would also question whether we'd get anyone in on transfer deadline day.

Think February loanees.

It's the elephant in the room that people don't want to acknowledge. We haven't got up to 42 players by magic, the managers have been backed and have signed a lot of crap.

From what I understood, he seemed to suggest that with 40 odd on the books, he will have to sit down a few players for some bad news and get rid before adding to the pay role, not what we want to hear, but a necessity.

I'm happy for it to happen that way. Personally I've accepted this season being a write-off. Provided that the necessary moves are made to properly equip the squad for August.

If this means shedding the vast amount of dead wood before the right additions can be brought in then so be it.

Some of them need to be sleeeping with the fishes, pronto

And then we can use the excuse "the new squad needs time to gel" when we don't go up

For all the moaning I myself and others make about the board the fact we have so many players desperately needs addressing before we can think of bringing in the number of players we need. I laughed today as I was listening to a Burton fan on 606 and heard the presenter say Clough is shrewed at recruitment.
