Come on barny, some of your stuff I agree with but saying Adkins lacks the basics of football management is so far off the scale it's not even a wind up. Take note of Winobank and give him a like.

Do you think prioritising which positions to make signings is a basic of football management?

What about not playing a striker as a striker? Sammon on the wing?

These are things he should be getting right, he isn't, and he's getting away with it.

Finalytheblade, I have no personal axe to grind with Adkins at all - I just know a c##t when I see one.

Never trust a man over 30 that clearly spends more than a minute looking in the mirror in the morning - Adkins, Pardew, Sherwood...all cut from the same cloth. If they weren't in professional football they'd be the type of PE teachers that take lessons in Oakley shades, while chewing gum and having inappropriately chumming relationships with the Year 11 & 6th form girls.

And I didn't literally mean you should have kicked the shit out of us...i meant you should of got a bit physical. Despite the best efforts of the new middle class fans watching on their 50 inch tvs football is still a contact support.

Football has come to something though when a northern club is moaning about a southern one being too thuggish.

Besides, only Muscat & maybe Ben Thatcher were dirty & nasty out of those ex Wall players mentioned...the likes of Cripps & Kitchener were as fair & sporting as the day is long...but they went in hard & didn't take prisoners. They are in no way pathetic wannabe hardmen like Savage or Barton, who were dirty.

And yes, the current crop of Wall youth players are pretty good...maybe they do seem a bit more spikey than other youngsters coming through at bigger club academies...mostly pampered kids from the suburbs. O'Brien is from a council estate in Ireland & has had to live in digs in Peckham since 15/16, Thompson, Nelson, Fred and Powell all grew up in the social housing estates of inner city London & have to train at an unglamorous training ground where players have to pay for toast as the club cannot budget for such luxuries.

If it means they can step it up away at the biggest club in the division, in front of one of my favourite partisan crowds at a proper football ground in the north, and put it about a bit, enough to unsettle the favourites for promotion, as well as the ex miners in the crowd then great! Cynical & thugs they be!

If you think they are unreasonable, that's fine. Isn't that what opinions are for? For the sake of balance in your investigation however, It would be interesting to note the content of the post that went before them. Or how many times that particular poster has been wholly out of order to myself initially. For example, one of those quotes came immediately after a certain poster called me a 'cunt'. Do you get my drift?
