I'll leave it to William Henry Foulkes to do a more comprehensive summary, but key things of interest:

- Done hopefully to be involved in the U21s next week
- Cuvelier back involved in training
- very coy on the questions re: Maguire
- Andy Butler "someone you'd always be happy to have in your squad"
- Deano and Turnbull abroad at the moment "looking at someone". Wonder if they're in Norway...

- Bob Harris and Wallace are while off by the sound of things.
- Higdon needs to go and play football (Done coming back influences this I think)
- Was at Hull midweek and as said very coy regarding Maguire.
- Been very active behind the scenes, Mal Brannigan is always having conversations and working hard to recruit.
- Excited about all of the players who are coming back from injury and good few coming back who could be considered starting XI.

- Re: Bradford - Started well but gifted them a goal, changed shape a little bit and conceded a second. But then shown great grit and determination to get back in the game. Players showed great character and the impact off the bench was great.

- Could quite easily have won all three games and be sat to of the league.
- When we are at home we should be trying to win every game.
- He doesn't think we are a soft team, we've shown character and grit to get back into games.
- He doesn't think we should be getting on the back of individual players.
- He says that teams will come to Bramall Lane and they know that if they keep the team quiet, the fans will get get on the teams back.
- It is good for fans to be demanding but it is also important to be supportive. You have to get behind the team.

- Knows the threat that Doncaster have, Andy Butler is a threat from set pieces.
- Butler is a top player, top guy, great attitude and a player who he would be happy to have in his squad.
- Rob Jones has the opportunity to earn the opportunity at Doncaster, he hopes to beat them and make this harder for him.
- Went to watch Donny v Oldham and they are strong and have threats, speaks about height and set play threat.
- Wants fans to be supportive on Saturday, be daminding but supportive because we all want the same thing.

- Re: Deano - Away with Turnbull scouting abroad.
- Deano will be involve with mentoring young strikers.

Can someone quantify what Mal Branigan 'working hard behind the scenes' actually means?

Of the line-ups, who would they potentially be looking at in your opinion?

Maguire is playing

Viking

Austbo

Danielsen Soares Sigurdsson Haugen

Thorsteinsson Jorgensen Mets Adegbenro

Abdullahi Bödvarsson

Sarpsborg

Heinze

Askar Berge Nordvik Groven

Zajić Ernemann Trondsen Maguire

Mortensen Wiig

Immediately thought of Viking's Adegbenro and Abdullahi, both promising teenagers. They're Nigerian though, would struggle to get a work permit in England. Besides, I think Viking would want £1m+ for each. Bödvarsson has done well for Iceland, is a Bosman in January, but has already signed for Kaiserslautern. Sarpsborg's Ernemann is a good central midfielder, but too old. Deano's captain, centre half Ole Heieren Hansen, is on the bench today.

A few years ago we tried to sign a midfielder from Viking that I didn't rate at all.

If the Nigerians get work permits in Norway, why would they not get the same in England ? I thought all (European) countries were covered by the same EUFA rules ?

I notice Abdullahi is 18 and had a decent goalscoring record.

This game has been a rather dull affair for 90 minutes! Anyway in extra time Sarpsborg have taken a 1-0 lead through a lad called Patrick Mortensen, it turns out that this lad has popped away quite a few goals . Might play in the equivalent of the Northern Premier League but get him signed up for the pittance that it will cost and see if he can find the net as much over here.

Done my youtube scouting :D

Bergen Blade is this lad any good?

Any whose contracts are up at the end of the Norwegian season? Which I imagine is fairly soon?

Viking: Sigurdsson (too old), Kristoffer Haugen (21 years old left back, wouldn't be a bad shout), Thioune (too old), Thorsteinsson (also 30).

Sarpsborg: Kerr, Heinze (both keepers), Berge, Nordvik, Zajic, Wiig, Kovacs. Can't see anyone being a target. Nordvik is a versatile defender who Deano signed.

So Kristoffer Haugen would be my guess. He has rejected a few offers of a new contract.

A left-back from Viking eh? The last one we bought off them wasn't too bad.

Not seen him too much to be honest. 6'2 target man. He only signed this summer so he didn't play under Deano.

No, it's much easier for African players to get work permits in Norway.

Yes I saw that mate but I am sure he probably knows a little bit about him none the less. Deano was interviewed to give an expert opinion on this Adama Diomande that Hull have signed from Stabaek and he said that he is surprised that he hadn't been picked up by an English club any sooner. The lad who scored tonight for Sarpsborg has a similar goalscoring record I believe. Seeing some great players up in the Nordic regions at the minute.

One line from his interview that worried me a bit was "I think you will find Championship clubs are unwilling to let players go at the moment even if they aren't playing". He then started talking about the January window.......

Paul Walker back on RS??
How the mighty have fallen...

And also about the summer window, and the January after that! Sounded a bit in direct reference to the Burn situation tbh.

Stopped telling us that his team of coaches can make the players better, starting to come to his senses?

Get a CH in, NOW.

Norway not being an EU member state may have something to do with it :-)

Would imagine he's filling in as a freelancer, easy money given it's on his doorstep. He's doing a lot of live TV commentaries now, and good luck to him. Always thought he was a good commentator, though perhaps not as adept with phone ins as he liked to have his say a bit too much.

Norway not being an EU member state may have something to do with it :)
That's why I said UEFA to include the Economic Trading area. Football's regulations about being a non European International player having played 75% of recent international games or whatever it is are football regulations not EU regulations.

Any Norweigan player can move to an English club without being an International player as far as I'm aware, otherwise we could only look at current Norweigan internationals or EU players playing in Norway.

Norway not being an EU member state may have something to do with it :)
I've looked up it up now, it isn't EUFA it's an English FA regulation about non Economic Trade Area players needing to have played 75% of International games in the last two years. This allows the PL to cream off the best in the world and fuck the rest of the clubs. This is why we'll never get anyone from our supposed association with Fenerbache.

There is free movement of labour between Norway and the EU but Abdullahi would have to become a Norweigan citizen before he could move to England to play football. So I guess it's not him we were looking at.
