I've looked up it up now, it isn't EUFA it's an English FA regulation about non Economic Trade Area players needing to have played 75% of International games in the last two years. This allows the PL to cream off the best in the world and fuck the rest of the clubs. This is why we'll never get anyone from our supposed association with Fenerbache.

There is free movement of labour between Norway and the EU but Abdullahi would have to become a Norweigan citizen before he could move to England to play football. So I guess it's not him we were looking at.

I have a vague recollection that before the last PL season Warnock tried to sign a Moroccan player but we fell foul of this rule.

Entirely agree with that. Excellent commentator (as is Giddings IMO) but when it comes to the phone ins, give me Jonathan Buchan any day or behind him I'd go for Staton. Less opinionated, better facilitators of discussion and don't try to shout down and hang up on callers they don't agree with.

That being said, I do quite like Paul's interactions with Brian the Blade as there's some good bits of comedy in there.

I didn’t hear the interview but find this interesting. He rebuked those exact claims form Flitcroft after the Bury game saying the crowd were fantastic and got behind the players etc.

Agree with the commentator bit. Came across as an arrogant know-all tosspot most of the time whilst doing the phone-in stuff.

You are always allowed 3 overage players in U21 games. They are a hybrid between Academy football and "reserve" football.

You can have effectively have 4 overage players if the keeper is also overage.

One line from his interview that worried me a bit was "I think you will find Championship clubs are unwilling to let players go at the moment even if they aren't playing". He then started talking about the January window.......

Very concerning comment bearing in mind our established habit of trying to "make do" until January !! By January we will be adrift of the very ordinary sides who are picking up the points at the moment and all thoughts of automatic promotion will, once again, be pipe dreams !!

I'm still, as before, not interested in play-off places given our abysmal and embarrassing record in such events !!
