Him and me both, unfortunately working so will be listening on radio, but excited none the less UTB

I was watching a few of his interviews on YouTube from when he was at Reading and he seems alot more upbeat and positive about things here than he did there. Similarly when he was announced as manager at Reading.

Adkins enthusiam is infectous , so it must also have a positive affect on the players , with a feel good factor around the club. He knows how to bull up players and us fans.

However he has to make sure enthusiasm does not outstrip reality . We are not the finished article .

Adkins experience IMO will pull us through this season , and i have a gut feeling that us fans will enjoy this season ( as the 4th division days) , and so will the players.

Good Saturday / Tuesday are coming back.

He's probably thinking that he's not here for a long time, but a good time!
Enjoy it and after watching the documentary "Warnock" he's thrown in a load of bladey bladeness

Expect Michael tongue and akinbiyi back on Monday and Beattie in the stands today

Plus lots of long balls

Love that preview.

You can just see how excited about the season and happy he is to be here, I'd imagine the players will enjoy working with him. Makes a change from worrying about the opposition and playing for draws.

I hope that he's so positive after assessing the squad and thinks we've a real chance of doing something this year.

Attitude and positive thinking does give you the extra few percent increase in performance
that changes defeats to draws and draws to defeats.

I do like what I see so far.
Looking forward to hearing his post match interviews.

It is years since I was so enthused about a new manager.
Very positive guy and if that infectious enthusiasm can be carried by the players then we will have a great season with the just reward at the end.
We will see today at the Gills.

He seems to be genuinely excited by the season ahead. He know's what a passionate bunch we are.

I don't want us to go through this season comparing him against his predecessor, but I can recall an interview Clough gave (may have been with Biggs) where it came up in conversation about his approach to match days, and being on the sidelines, and he essentially said he never enjoys it. He enjoyed winning, he enjoyed the work in between games, but the actually 90 minutes he couldn't enjoy. You don't get that sense with Adkins whatsoever – he seems to enjoy absolutely everything the manager's job entails.

His enthusiasm wouldn't mean much if it wasn't backed up by good tactical management, but things are looking good in that department too. Judging by our two main friendlies we actually look more organised and have a better shape about us than previously. The 4-4-2 is not all out attack, and even the strikers have considerable defensive responsibility when the opposition have the ball. I liked McEveley's interview as well. Adkins seems to have a very specific philosophy when it comes to what he wants his players to do, both when defending and attacking.

What did you make of Baxter's performances BB? Think he'll be able to play that sitting/ball playing midfielder role in league 1 with its higher tempo? Any thoughts on Adams? I think his pace and physicality will be a real handful at this level!

Baxter looks a lot fitter and if he can keep improving that side of his game he could be like a new signing. Without improved fitness I would have transfer listed him after last season. Very excited by Adams, always look forward to seeing him get on the ball.

I bet old Adkins won't be looking so excited next weekend at the lane...

Sort it out, quickly Adkins
