Well Adkins has made two statements that indicate that this might be more of a business trip than a night at the football. A week ago he told the press that he has made enquiries about 4 players but most importantly I don't know if you remember way back but Adkins told Bladesplayer that he likes to watch any potential recruits beforehand in the flesh before making any sort of decision as to whether to invite them for talks.

No doubt there will be plenty of influences around Bramall Lane who would speak very highly of Maguire's ability and looking at the teamsheet from the game and considering the areas that Adkins is looking to strengthen, I would say that Maguire was to most realistic target if it was a business trip.

...or Kyle Bartley..remember him?
Played with both Dan Burn and I guess he'd know Edgar from Brum!?!?!

It's likely he will have been looking at Harry and maybe Bartley. Both won't be cheap to get in on loan.

Maguire is the only player involved in that game he could realistically be looking at.

Imagine Maguire and Burn at the back? That would be a partnership worth investing in.

Reckon we could buy Harry back at half the price?

I still think, fuck him. He wanted to leave for the cash. Why the fuck should we kick start his career back off?

It's more about what he can do for us isn't it?

I don't blame him for moving two divisions higher. Unlike Kevin MacDonald who was just a total shitmonkey.

I think you have a very valid point but if Harry is available at the right price for us and is willing to come back and give nothing short of 100% then it is all about needs and musts and swallowing pride. He is a relatively young lad and he had the chance to go and fight for a place at a higher club, he will know now that although his pay cheque my be improved his pitch time hasn't and overall it might not have been the right move at the right time for him. He has friends at the club and he knows what the club are all about, he is a local lad and all of his family are down here and I am sure he wouldn't mind the opportunity to play under Adkins as well.

In all honesty he could quite easily get everyone back on side if he comes in, plays out of his skin and helps us win promotion.

I was speaking to a Wolves supporter yesterday morning.

McDonald was mentioned and I said he was a player that most Blades fans thought the 'sun shone out of his ....' and yet I was never greatly impressed. Too much 'square ball Wilkins' (no disrespect Dean) for me.

Anyway this Wolves fan says this is exactly the style he is playing for them now. Interestingly enough he's refusing to sign a new contract because he wants more money.

I think we could get Harry for £0, surely Hull still owe us a large chunk of the original fee, just right it off and take him back

What would people think if it was Bartley? I remember him as pretty average, but has continued to play at a higher level since we had him.

Yeah Harry was a fool for wanting to better himself after he improved year on year in his 4 seasons in League 1, whilst his team mates regressed year on year around him.

Hardly his fault that nepotism stands in the way of him being given a chance in the first team in the league.

Get him back ...................... build him up

then McCabe can sell him again

I happened to be at the game last night. I only had a passing interest in the game itself, but I was watching Harry's performance carefully. He played well, solid as ever. He didn't seem to have too much to do, Swansea's build-up play was slow, and most of the threats seemed to be nullified before it got to Harry. But anything that did come his way was soon going the other. I was surprised to hear Adkins was also present, and I'd be even more surprised if we were able to get Maguire in on loan, as I can see him getting more and more game time at 'Ull as the season progresses.

The 'he wanted to leave so fuck him' mentality really is narrow minded and pathetic.

He was absolutely right to leave and it's what any of you would've done in your own jobs. More money, higher level, still close to home and for all we know Bruce might have told him he'd be involved much more than he has been. He will have seen that we weren't strengthening like we should have done too which was probably a contributing factor.

He'd improve us immeasurably, that's the main thing. So why cut your nose to spite your face?

We'll probably pursue him for the whole of January instead then and miss out on deadline day.

It's JUST our luck. Nigel goes to watch our target, and one of his direct competition for the shirt gets injured for the month meaning we won't be allowed to sign him! Genius stuff.

On another note, I'd take Bartley.
