This is exactly as simple as it should be. Square blocks on the players shirts and that’s it. If they could do it 1990 I’ve no idea why they can’t now.

The blocks would be a fair bit bigger now though to fit the player names in, and at that point you've basically got a 2/3rds solid back anyway.

On the player shirts. Not the fan ones

Can almost guarantee a solid plain back now.

Great 😫
So after approx. 74 years watching football/soccer it's true, referees do need specs.1955-56 Nov 5 H V Portsmouth L 1-3 HT0-1 Ringstead.jpg

If they cannot see these then they ought to have a dog for the blind.

Home kit was wank, but the aways were decent.

Yes, even the pink one.

I humbly return my Blade card

Green one is one of the nicest in my lifetime. Love wearing it.

Home and pink were an abomination.

Keep yer Blade card. All about opinions, innit!

But a fair size of the fan base have names on the back so they'd have to make them the same.
No issue with that - stripes on the back for those who want them, names/numbers for those who want them

Eh?

The issue solely lies with fans and commentators being able to view the number from afar doesn’t it? Hence, a block would make it visible. Since there isn’t a reason for the name being on the shirt (football coped for over 100 years without it), why would it then need to go on a block and even then it’s so small you wouldn’t be able to read it anyway from afar.

Design the shirt based on creating a nice shirt to suit the traditions of the club. Find a fix for the other stuff after. Have the players numbers applied on a pre-made coloured block. So simple they were doing it 30 years ago.

They won’t do any of the above, because they are Adidas. In fact, if you go looking around at kits they’ve already put out, you’ve probably already seen ours.

e.g. this one with the colours changed

… which I would be really happy with… until you find out that the back is solid.

Oh, and the middle stripe should always be red. Even Shakespeare knew that.

Come on then mattbianco1, do your stuff. Swap the dark blue for red, the light blue for white, and the pin stripes for black. Collar & Adidias stripes should also be black I reckon?
