Pretty much every manufacturer does it. Umbro, Adidas, Hummel, Nike, Under Armour, Puma. Stripes on the back is just not a thing now for some reason.

So annoying. How hard is it exactly?

When they do do it, they manage to make it fugly anyway, like Puma, who have a penchant for weird uneven barcode stripes/general ugly design.

It surely must just be for advertising ease. Sponsors on shirt backs for a lot of leagues, and name and number recognition for the social media ads and shop displays.

This is proper odd, how has this been left so late? there are some teams who have already released or even played in new kits if this has just been announced then it would seem ours hasn't even gone into production. going to be interesting how this plays out expecting a bit of a shit show.

Likely done ages ago, it's been on here for a good while that we were staying with Adidas.

There's just been a lot of stuff going on, relegation, manager announcement, new sponsor.

This is just the formal announcement.

We always release kits late anyway even if we're in the middle of a multi year deal.

A one year deal so it will be some shitty template with a plain back then?

1 year minimum.

If we signed a 10 year deal though it'd have a "plain" back, well, 2/3rds plain like the last 2 seasons most likely. Even Juventus have to put up with that.

Can’t see a large supplier like Adidas allowing things to go pear shaped. They won’t want the bad publicity.

So frustrating when we were playing against Palace, Newcastle, West Brom etc. When they had stripes or stripe-esque things on the back of the shirt. Just seems to be us landing in the shit again. Umbro had stripes on the back of Brentford's kit last season.

I just think the square panel on the back is wrong.

I could cope with oval or even round panels - at least some stripes would be possible
