Adams / Cork

Ellis will be gone whatever happens.

I'd imagine and be happy with Carver in some kind of coaching/assistant role.

We should stipulate as part of Cork's contract that he has to grow back the beard.

Cork being part of the team makes me happy.

Will be interesting to see if these two transfers Speed reckoned were lined up remain so. I seem to recall he said they were quality players, let's hope Reid is also on the radar although as mentioned elsewhere, we'll do well to stop a Prem team nipping in if indeed he's a possibility.

Hadn't realised Corky has followed MA around a few times, this will be their 4th 'association'.

I remember seeing him collecting tickets in the 02/03 season, scouting us ahead of the home game against Leicester. As my memory of the guy had been as he was in that picture, as a clean-shaven Cork 10 years on he looked much younger than I remembered him in 1993.

Just reported on R Sheff midday news that Ellis & Carver (oops) have already departed the club!

I remember them reporting that Ellis had gone with Blackwell as well !

Interesting rumours coming out of BM, apparently Adams didn't want Ellis and this caused a few problems, he doesn't want Rowan Vine who is/was one of the transfer targets we had lined up for next month and wants to bring Vale's keeper with him.

Who were the targets other than Vine then?

Oh and remember the Vale keeper having a blinder against us. Wouldn't complain about a new keeper at all.

Very true, I just hope they've got it right this time!

When Port Vale did us over last season they had a big lad in midfield named Griffiths who trod all over us and bossed it very well. I wonder if he could cut it at Championship level?

I kissed that bald head of Alan Corks in Josephines in the early 90's. Was the same night Carlton Palmer was waving his cock about in the gents...........

Cork hardly has a good coaching/managerial history, why are we rating these guys because they were once players?

I've just been looking at the Port Vale squad to see who Adams might want to bring with him. The obvious ones are the keeper Tomlinson who we and QPR have previously been linked with a £250K move for (Adams stated that amount of money wouldn't buy his left hand!), the central defender John McCombe (who is apparently a pig fan!) and the striker Marc Richards (who has been prolific under Adams after hardly scoring before).

If one of his targets IS Tomlinson, I suspect we might see a few shock departures as Adams and Cork cast a fresh eye over the squad. There are certain players who are knocking on a bit and not really justifying their large wages at the moment (e.g. Simonsen, Britton, Creswell, Bogdanovic). I think younger, hungry players from the lower divisions will be the way forward now.

My concerns exactly!

It's like a throwback to 1993. I can't see how we've filled Birch's criteria with this appointment

Promoted with Fulham, Cardiff and Leicester :)
Well lets hope his promotion record from division two isn't needed. :)

Adams and Cork? FFS. A new ethos, Mr Birch? If this is true then you can stick a fork in me and turn me over. I'm done.

This questions will be put to Birch by certain members of BIFF. (email them from here to make sure although there is no need I know a few who are already chomping on the bit).

In the meantime lets at least see what happens between now and the summer, you never know we might be wrong and the board might know more than us.

There's no room to manoevre until the Summer really but yes, there's plenty of scope for shipping out (if we can get buyers) and he should be able to bring a few in. My money's on our Neil taking Hendo of our hands :)

He will get my support ass every new manager does. At the minute though, I will be basing everything on results. I would rather eat my own ass hairs than go to league one.
