Hope this hasn't been posted before. Couldn't find it if it has. Just seen on Face Book that the above guy has offered to pay for a United lad to be a mascot. His mother had posted that they would never be able to afford for him to be a mascot and out of the blue Adam said he follows the Blades due to the Wilder Knill connection and would like to pay. What a great gesture.

Been wondering what to have for my birthday, next Tuesday, I don't need a thing so happy to sponsor another kid.
Don't know how people can get in touch, sure someone on here may enlighten me.

Ask for charity donations instead of gifts, it’s a nice gesture by the Northampton fan, but there are much more deserving causes than kids not being able to be mascots.

If anything it’s something the club should look at doing for free anyway. I know at Coventry it was free (might still be), the parents just had to buy the kit I believe.

It's a lovely gesture, but agree with the original post. £200? Reduced??? Crazy! (I honestly never knew it was so much).

I know price is driven by demand, and there must be enough demand for them to sell at that price every other week, but I do think it pushes it out of reach of the majority of fans/parents.

Feel free to shoot me down... call me cynical but her post reads like she was hoping the club would see it and respond with a freebie. The smirky face icon gives it away. It's the same with young fans holding signs up asking for a certain players shirt, I'm not a big fan of begging and would much rather see a player give it to a young fan who is not begging for it.

It doesn't change the fact that this Adamcobbler guy is a very kind person and I'm sure the 1 year old will remember it for years to come via pictures.

Very nice guy.

Out of interested, I thought you had to be 5 or something to be a mascot.? Has that changed?

Is it just me that thinks £200 isn't that bad for the mascot package and everything you get?

I know its a lot of money for most but I still think its value for money.

Ps. Tip of the cap to the Northampton fan regardless.
I think that was a reduced price due to a cancellation.

My son is mascot for the Forest game. Cost is £250 minus ST holders 10% discount. You get a kit voucher, a signed ball, photos plus meet all the players and sit in the privileged seats in the South Stand. I had my name down but they were slow to get back to me. When I booked back in Summer 2017, Forest was the most attractive of the few remaining and I got the last place.

It's a wonderful gesture from Adam and one he should be justifiably proud he's made . But sweet Jesus, he drew the short straw when it came to surnames !
" Cobblers " . They may aswell call him " Pair of Bollox " and have done with .

Quick still time to edit! (He's a Northampton Town fan).

Is he really ? Silly me
Yeah couldn't make up my mind whether you were that naive or not so gave you the easy out.
Nice one looks like you've got a catch, me I'm still thinking it's the old 'it was always a joke' as I swim up river.

His real name is Adam Johnson

It's about one third of the cost of an iphone which most kids seem to be carrying around these days. I know which I would have preferred when I was 10 years old.

My son was mascot last year and led them out, I can honestly say as I was stood pitchside that it's one of the proudest moments of my life, admittedly it was a special match and it was televised, but worth every single penny.

The package as a whole is excellent regardless of who we play, the experience, how you are looked after, what the kids get, tickets, tour etc etc. I highly recommend it.

United really have got this right

Well 60 years ago an iPhone wouldn't have been a whole lot of use without a network would it?

-Mum, what's this you've got me?
-Wait 40 years son and then you'll be able to send abusive messages to people you don't know, access dog porn and send pictures of yourself to people who can't really be arsed to look at them.
-Mum, what's dog porn?

In those days you would have phoned the operator and asked her!!!

-Is that the operator on the line?
-(Bored voice) Yes?
-Well you better get off 'cos there's a train coming.

It's amazing how you'd always find hilarious stuff to do in the school holidays.
