Linked with him again in the mirror this morning, would be a good signing IMO

Every time a transfer window comes around we're linked with this lad. Unsurprisingly we never sign him.

I have my doubts about whether he could cut it at our level. No disrespect to the lad because he's obviously a decent player and if I was managing in League 1 or 2 I would want him in my team, but I honestly cant see him having the necessary attributes.

Not particularly strong and not the quickest. You need one or the other in the Championship.

Got to agree with you steel another Billy sharp for me just couldn't see him doing it for us.

Personally think he's exactly what we need, that said, we can't afford him and so it aint gonna happen.

Linked with the Dirties now too. Having never seen him play, I've no idea whether he's what we need or not. I have, however, seen enough of Kevin Phillips to know he's exactly what we want.

I like the look of this lad, and if we were sitting comfortably in the play off positions i'd say sign him.
But it would still be a risk and currently we are not in the position to take risks, we need proven goalscorers at this level. best of luck to him though, could really be one to look out for!

I'd rather we signed Davies from Chessie personally

I agree norfolk, good call. I said the same on a week or so ago. He looks a real handful that lad and has the physical attributes to play at a higher level. He looks far more suited to the Championship than Le Fondre IMO. Having said that, we would never know until they both played in it!

True, saying that though, was listening to Sheridan during praise or grumble on Sat evening, and he said he hopes to god that he listens to the advice he is given, so hopefully he isn't a mardy prick like Beckford!

I think Le Fondre would be a good signing if we used him correctly, the problem i have with many blades teams over recent seasons is that we expect our strikers to come deep etc and that is why we failed Billy Sharp because he is not meant to be doing all that work, just try and give him ball and let him finish the chances and if we signed Le Fondre that is all i'd tell him, focus on nothing else but getting the goals.

What would Le Fondre do any different to the strikers we have now?
All our forwards have proven goalscoring records for previous clubs. When are we going to realise it's the way we play in feeding our frontmen which is the problem.
What would Le Fondre bring any different to what we already have?

hmmm... Goals?

So, none of the strikers we have, have never scored goals anywhere else then?? Billy Sharp? Yeh, he was shit. Oh, hang on, isn't he scoring goals in a team that provide good service? Ched Evans? Scored the odd goal when given a chance at Man City, then ten goals in twenty starts for a good Norwich City team.
Just my opinion by the way, but, i can't see a league 2 striker saving our season. I could be wrong Swiss, and, if i am i'll gladly apologise my friend.:)

So who fed James Beattie then? The wingers/midfield we had then werent much better than what weve got now.

I don't agree with it, I just got in there and said it before anyone else did.

Personally I think Ched will start scoring if we get decent, consistent supply... and tell him where to play i.e as a striker, not dropping deep... oh and he needs a strike partner with pace, not a winger like Ward

So provided we get 2 or 3 other good players, Ched will come good?

He is the last player I would be building a side around.

Well that was my arse covering ;) I think he'll still score enough with the wingers and midfielders that we have

What are the chances of actually signing Le Fondre, Davies or Kevin Phillips? All would be good signings in my opinion.

Craig Davies at Chesterfield. Looks handy, would like to see him at the lane. Like everyone else though.....I doubt we could afford him.

Cheers fella. will take a look at him. Not heard about him and i'm normally quite informed about local players

Loan with a buy clause for the summer would be the only realistic option for any player we'll be looking at bringing in I reckon.
