I noticed Curtis fluffing up his feathers and coming on all testosterone and cat's musk on BladesMad just after BU went down. His warning to the BU refugees was a joy to behold...

And there was me thinking the more relevant part of the post was the players we've acquired over the summer.
It really is about reading the posts Bert, not imagining what you think is in them.
As for our deranged dead man walking, I'd love to know which players he's going to sell and who he thinks is going to take them on.

Well according to that he now lives in Silver City, New Mexico, United States and lists his interests as andy goldsworthy, birding, china, deserts, dorothy dunnett, food, geography and maps, going on safari, iain banks, languages, norse myth and legend, radio slimbridge, silver city, single malt whisky, the renaissance, wuxia

No mention of the Blades anywhere!

He did always have somewhat varied interests. I remember his lectures on Tuvan (sp?) Throat Singing. :rolleyes: And the bird watching always featured a fair bit in his posts.

Interestingly, this board now reunites Bert and Brownie for the first time in a year or two. :eek:

Before i get jumped on, this is not a response to our negative poster, more of a question which i'd like to know the answer to.

Len, Can you please state, for myself and many others, 3 positive things you can see in OUR football club at this present time?

I don't want a political rant of an answer, just 1) answer, 2) answer, 3) answer.

1) We're still in existence
2) We're providing employment to quite a lot of people in a bad recession
3) Struggling now...

It's nice to see a few familiar names have already completed the free transfer, some have changed their titles for various reasons, shortened in some cases, as in Knackered Knee Blade for example, to just Knackered Blade, the knee has been fixed I believe.
Looking forward to seeing the others join soon.
I think we're going to have a lot to dicuss judging from last night's game.
 
Didn't fancy a new thread in the introductions, so another BU refugee here. Was Huddersfield_Blade over there, and am Houso on Barrel of Money and F365.

Blades Mad scares me.

I stopped being a Huddersfield Blade around 7 years ago, but couldn't be bothered to change my permanent alias on BU from when I first joined. Was Woodhouse_Blade for some time just by changing my post alias.

Blimey, makes me realise how long I spent on that forum. RIP BU :cry:
 
Me too; from about 97-2000 I was Bath Blade until I moved out here. Never bothered with a London-based alias opting for PlayStation Blade. VancouverBlade is now my online gaming moniker - we have to have our gamer tags on our business cards now!

He wasnt really interested in football until a student friend persuaded him to watch the Blades v West Ham match in Oct 1989. We lost 2-0 despite having a record of 28 corners in that match. Shiny enjoyed the atmosphere and the passion shown by the fans and the team and then became a Blade. I believe his interest in football had cooled down not long before he discovered the SUISA forum and enjoyed the debates. Many of the SUISA Vpers loved Shiny's humour and deep knowledge of useless facts. He was enjoying his "fame" so he attended Vpers meetings at the Pump wearing his bright canary colour shirt (hence his alias) before going to watch some of the home games in the BLUT. His shirt was so bright so that it was easy for anyone in the crowd to spot him. He appeared as a fan pundit (forgot what it was called) on Sky Sports in the Fulham v Blades match in February 2001. Not long after that he stopped posting in any of the Blades related forums and then probably lost his interest in football all of a sudden. He wasnt really born to be a Blade

Shiny once got his facts wrong about Fidel Castro and Bert nailed him over it on BU so when Bert spotted a canary yellow rotund supporter in the BLUT bogs he went up behind him and said "Interesting bloke that Fidel"...... Shiny spun round cock in hand and almost pissed on Bert.
