I like how he's getting more casual each game.

Suited and booted

Suit trousers and sport coat

Next game blazer, t-shirt and jeans

10 games in, airtex vest and comfy boxers

This. ^^^

Today was a big drop in standards after Saturday. Bordering on disrespectful to the competition.

So he's not even on the bench tonight. Which to me suggests he's a gonna, as Arsenal wouldn't want him cup tied. Very poor if we let him go for under £30m considering he's still contracted and United have nothing to lose.
Why would they care about him being cup tied in a competition they don't care about and won't play him in, of they do indeed sign him? We're we making sure Egan, Fleck and Didzy weren't cup tied as well?

Genuinely interested in what you're basing that on tonight because for me we could have stuck a traffic cone in net and come out with a clean sheet.

He was confident enough and dealt with everything thrown at him, and if our defence is good enough to make up the difference, we can spend on a creative midfield/ defender/ goal scoring striker which we crave

It was in paper at weekend they wanted to get it sorted before today to make sure he wasn't cup tied

West ham were interested in him in January as well and Warburton laughed off £6m. They lost Lumley on a free in the summer. On the one hand QPR are a selling club, on the other, what does Sheff U offer that QPR doesn't. I dunno.

My mate reckons it's a none starter and there's nothing coming though their ITK channels.

I'd have been pretty confident with Lee Baxter in goal tonight such was the threat from Carlisle. He won't be dealing with looped in aimless crosses and misscued shined volleys in the championship. And anything he kicked over 10 yards went straight to an opponent.

Because we spent the PL money on transfers and wages and now the tv income has been reduced by 40%.

Aye, if we got £220m Prem money, we signed Brewster, Berge, McBurnie, Ramsdale, Freeman, Mousset, Bogle, and Lowe.

£100m ish

Henderson loan fee, Verrips compensation etc probably another £5m

Probably some people I've forgot we bought, ans Robinson C, who we mostly got our money back for, then Wilder's pay off, paying the mortgage on the ground.

And weren't our wages were £40m the season we went up? And they've obviously gone up since then, but even if they didn't, 2 seasons of that doesn't leave much change out of the Prem money when you add it to transfers.

Parachute payments still have to pay wages similar to the last time we were in the championship, so there'll need to be some wheeling and dealing, but you'd imagine Slav wouldn't have joined up without some assurances.

Oh good. So if someone offers £20 million & Warburton laughs it off, does that mean QPR’s board will turn it down??

I like Ramsdale and think he’s a top keeper, but I do wonder if he’s less suited to the Championship for us. Now we’re playing with a back 4 and are more narrow, if teams do what Birmingham did and attack down the sides and put crosses in I think Ramsdale would struggle. He’s not the most commanding, I can’t remember him claiming any crosses on Saturday.

Not in the squad tonight. Avoiding the cup to maximise the sale value. It’s definitely happening!
This feels a bit like 2+2=5 to be honest.

We have 3 senior keepers.

There is absolutely no benefit in Ramsdale taking part in the League Cup against 4th tier opposition.

Even if he was to go, I could completely see this as a legitimate management choice just as it was to not pick Berge or Egan or McGoldrick.

All these guys are certs to start and they all had the night off.

I think this is more of a happy coincidence.

It feels like we're in a no-win situation here. On the one hand, if selling Ramsdale meant we could keep Berge, then I'd be fine with it. Keepers are replaceable. £25m ball-playing midfielders are not.

But if we accept that Berge is leaving one way or another, it feels like a gut-punch to contemplate losing both.

If they have made 4 bids so far, how come we are only at 20m in the bidding?

Not denying it might happen but unless this is a "by the weekend this happens" prediction, then just about anyone could post this and have some degree of optimism it might happen.

I'm inclined to not believe we would accept 20m given we seemed fine for the 18.5m figure to be tagged to him.

One other point, if we did pay 12.6m because of a sell on, this isn't some sort of coup. If they had been selling to Arsenal the player then we would have been receiving it. It's a nothing. It's neither a positive or a negative.
