We've not sold him.

£20m to Arsenal from the writer of 'we're getting Ryan Sessegnon"...
He misses a lot. I think Ramsdale will go, I don’t think Sunjihi is correct about the amount. If it was £20m there would be more clubs in for him. Probably £20m upfront with add ons.

Weren't we only supposed to have paid £13m because of the sell on clause we had with Bournemouth which made the £18m deal effectively £13m. But then Bournemouth will have a sell on clause and that'll eat into our profit so I think we shoudln't be taking less than £25m and not with £7m making part of the deal on appearances etc.

Verrips starts tonight.
Probably means nothing in the grand scheme of things.
I do think he will leave but I would be surprised if it's only for £20 million.

Embarrassing if that amount is true, since signing for us he was part of England’s euro squad surely that adds value? We’ve effectively made nothing at that price.
It would do if he’d played. He was only there because of injuries. I reckon a couple more injuries to English keepers and George Long would’ve been called up. Michael Ricketts has played more football for England than he has.

There’s no queue of clubs wanting to sign him. The number of people that have said Bournemouth pulled Wilder’s pants down on the deal six months ago and now he’s worth double because he sat on the England bench.

Is there a way we can blame McCabe for this?

Nope. Agreed fee would have broken our transfer record (£22m for Berge) - source Wilder, Bettis & Prince.
With sell on clause providing a 15% deduction we ended up paying £18.5-19m.
If we paid any less than that in cash terms then it was because they still owed us for Brooks. But that's completely by-the-by.

Intruiged to see how Verrips performs tonight. He's only 24 too, looked great in the Eredivisie and is taller than Ramsdale. Would be shame to see him go, but if it means Berge can stay and if there is a sell-on clause...

Should still be able to afford a few loans.
Dunno, I’m not their accountant. Of course it could just be bollocks, we’ll sign five loans this week and not sell anyone. We’ll see.

I don't ever recall figures being mentioned by Wilder or others but I don't can't despute it either, I can't recall. Figures not often mentioned though, it's always "disclosed".

And to rub it in, if/when it's confirmed by Arsenal, it's a typical Gunners statement they will no doubt say that they got him for a bargin. Now that would piss me off.

I agree with all of the above. I just feel we have an opportunity off the back of him being England’s 3rd choice (for that tournament), young up and coming to try and get as much as possible. He’s stock will never be higher in my opinion than it is no.

He wasn’t the reason both teams went down, his stats back everything up, he’s now an England player, whether he’s played or not, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know he’s going to get better and better. This is a desperate deal if the figures are right, I think they offered more weeks ago. We already need a few players, this now means we need more, for me it just isn’t his valuation mate, no where near.
I'd be happy for him to stay but it's becoming more and more apparent that no bodies will be coming into the club before we sell. Let's not kid ourselves with the England goalie stuff. He wouldn't have been in the squad but for Hendersons injury. Let's see how much Sam Johnston goes for. A keeper above him in the England pecking order.

For me, Sam Johnstone isn’t as good as Ramsdale so I’m not bothered what he goes for. The valuation is miles off with the years he has left on his contract and the potential he has.

Fair comment re contract. Agree to disagree. UTB.

But for the fact that this is our club we're talking about, you'd have to laugh at how pathetically predictable it has become.

I said to my brother at full-time on Saturday that in the wake of that one defeat, the club would now go chasing any suitors for Ramsdale or Berge, and beg them to come back and buy them. And that, because we'd flag that we're desperate, the prices would now be determined by the buyers.

It's McCabe begging Hull to buy Maguire having made an initial stand of refusing an offer, but then giving him away for less. And it's McCabe pushing the Naughton deal through when Spurs were wavering, by chucking in the sweetener of an even better full-back for a million quid.

The names change but the club never does.

Hearing the same..

From good sauces.. HP and Daddy's..

Joking aside.. From a good source... Hearing its gonna happen..

That's terrible business. The agreed fee with Bournemouth last season was circa £23m. Sold him at a loss after getting Player of the Season and a call up to the England squad. Embarrassing.

Stop peddling this bollocks. As I've said before, from the Bournemouth end they confirmed £13.5m or there abouts.

Can you provide quotes from anyone about Ramsdale's fee being anything above £18.5m? Bournemouth are very good at keeping fees to the press: had it been £18.5m rising to £23.5m then that's what would have been widely reported at the time.

And breathe

So he's not even on the bench tonight. Which to me suggests he's a gonna, as Arsenal wouldn't want him cup tied. Very poor if we let him go for under £30m considering he's still contracted and United have nothing to lose.
