BARRY LOAN DEAL ENDS

DEFENDER Aaron Barry's loan spell at DFC has ended and he will now return to Sheffield United.

The Irish-born defender arrived at the Bet Butler Stadium in the summer of 2013 and has played a pivotal role at the heart of the Sons defence making 22 appearances.

Manager Ian Murray said:"It's unfortunate for us that Aaron has been recalled by Sheffield.

"His deal expires on 3rd January and we did try to extend his stay but it wasn't to be and all at the club wish him well back at Bramall Lane."

Had to rebuke a Liverpool fan watching the footy in the pub yesterday when he referred to "United" playing later on. I asked him if he meant Newton Heath or one of the other miscellaneous clubs who'd followed THE original United.
