A year since we sold Ndiaye

Fantastic skill, as you say we miss him!
Just cracking to see a young talented lad doing well. There's hints Man U are considering him but it does seem he will go to bigger and better clubs. Strong chance for him to remain and become an Everton legend though.

Fair play to him, glad I got to see him in red and white

We had to sell him and never see our best player in modern times play at the top level when we'd just been promoted, to ensure we have the funds to bounce straight back to the Premier League.
We sold him because he wanted to leave, I still attribute this partly to us messing him about with his initial contract and then not spotting his incredible potential, thus forcing a move to Marseille and only getting £15m for him.

We didn’t bounce back to the PL and didn’t get to see him in a Blades shirt in the PL either. Huge shame.

We chose to sell him, costing us money but to reduce the variance in the event he didn't keep us up

I never thought that and can't remember anyone else saying it
At the time there was a lot of copium from some of the fans who decided that he was the devil saying that because he was poor against Man City, he’d struggle in the PL. I’d try and find some posts but I can’t be bothered.

Which was a massive shame. We wasted that money anyway, so I'd much rather have seen him play for us for another year, and at the top level of the game.

As Sheffield United fans we don't get many shots at the Premier League, and we get even fewer world class players. To sacrifice both in the name of a balance sheet is to me, massively disappointing.

Hope he leaves Everton.

They don’t deserve him. They’re far too tinpot and unambitious. He’s wasting a chance at winning things the longer he stays there.

Not forgiven them for taking Calvert-Lewin for a pittance, which I can partly accept due to where we were but then gloating about how little they paid for him was classless.

In addition, the bastards should have been relegated instead of us under Bassett. I still recall now not only Segers letting the ball theough his fingertips but the outrageous cheat Limpar and the no contact penalty they got gifted. They deserve a season in the Championship.

Hope his agent helps him drop them like a bad habit in the summer.

Sounds so simple doesn’t it.

Spending £15 million on a player for just 1 season. Remember at the end of the season he leaves in a free, so that £15 million we won’t have had to strengthen.

The team was so sub par that not even N’Diaye would have saved us. We needed to turn down the £15 million and spend another £50 million plus just to be competitive. It’s a Chansiri type shit or bust risk.

Altho I do agree he was a pleasure to watch but we became a 1 man team, everything was played to him.

Nottingham Forest tried the big overspending gamble and it paid off where as others try it and suffer FFP points deductions and even admin.

Also let’s not forget he wanted to leave to his boyhood club. Keep him against his will would lower morale and show what type of club we are. We are supposed to be attractive and we never keep players against their wishes.

Also let’s not forget that £15 million in the final year of a contract and probably equivalent to a £30 million sale for someone with a few year left.
