We've undoubtedly had an excellent start to the season and there's much to be excited about. There's a buzz about the place. Rightly so after a great August.

Next up is a tough September featuring three away games and just the one home game. We have...

Hull (A) - Currently 7th after mixed results but secured decent home wins against Norwich and Coventry, plus a draw at Burnley. Have a danger man in Estupinian who is on 7 for the season already. Will be looking to bounce back from a 3-1 loss tonight.

Rov'rum (H) - Usually a comfortable win but the Millers have had a cracking start to their season. Undefeated at the time of writing. They'll be looking to give us a proper game.

Swansea (A) - midweek trip to South Wales where we haven't won since 1958...

Preston (A) - desperate for goals and wins but clearly hard to break down. Haven't conceded a goal in the league so far this season.

Think this next month will be an early test of our promotion credentials and a chance for us to answer the questions which have emerged over our away form. But it won't be easy and it has the potential to bring us down to earth a bit if we only have one win for the whole month (that's presuming we continue the home form and beat Rotherham which I'm fairly confident we'll do).

Time to step it up a gear and take the style and swagger of the Bramall Lane performances on the road.

My points return prediction:

Hull (A) - L
Rotherham (H) - W
Swansea (A) - D (I actually think we'll win this, but I'm erring on the side of caution)
Preston (A) - D

Points: 5

Bring it on!

Before we play at the weekend, the 3 PL relegated teams could all overtake us at the top!

The big difference now, is that teams like Hull, Rotherham, Swansea and Preston, all have the same task facing them.

If they decide to harass Norwood and Berge, what do you think Illiman and Doyle could do? How do they deal with Anel and McBurnie?

Add to that list, we also have a strong bench to bring skill and fresh legs on to worry sides even more. PH hinted before the Reading game that we had the players to attack the opposition home and away now. He will give them more licence to attack, especially away from home.

How many clean sheets has Wes kept with a strong defence in front of him?

Opposition managers have a real problem deciding how to approach this side tactically. The Blades under PH are now giving opposition managers some serious headaches. 😄

We’ll dick ‘em all and get 18 points.

Let them worry about us. And let's be honest and positive - There's plenty for them to worry about. 10 points.

'Give it 10 games' they say. That's when you can judge the league. Words I often repeated to myself last year, under Slav, so you know, it's not bullet proof...

However, by the end of September, we'll be 11 games into the season and will have just played away from home 3 out of the previous 4. Considering our away form is supposedly our weak link (personally I'm not overly concerned) 'Give it 10 games' could be the best metric we have to judge our season.

During the 100 point L1 season I had this feeling that the games couldn't come fast enough. I wanted to be watching us all the time. This feels the same. Hopefully it will still feel that way in a months time.

I thought it was August that was supposed to be the tough month Watford from the prem, Boro, Blackburn, Millwall, Luton all up there last season and Sunderland full of confidence after their promotion, Reading on a good run but destroyed again in south Yorkshire, not turned out too shabby has it?

This is based on pre season betting odds but this is the difficulty of our games in a nice handy chart.

Let's face it all games in the EFL can potentially be tough!
It's always been like that where top can beat bottom and vice versa.
But if we can keep up this intensity, avoid more injuries (impossible I know), get some of the injured players back and up to speed, then there's no reason why we can't keep on getting results!
However it's a long hard season and anything can happen.
If we're up there come the World Cup break and even better if by Xmas, then it's EPL next season.

Nothing to fear from that run of games. Sure we could come unstuck in any one of those games if we arent at the races for whatever reason on the day, but there is absolutely nothing to fear about anyone of those teams and we are a much better team than any of them. If they play well and we play well in any given match, we win cos we are better.

Concentrate on playing to our strengths and playing well and we can win all of them. Not saying we will though but it's very achievable. Bring it on.

Nice

I look at that run of games and compare to what we’ve already played and I’m not to concerned.

We played watford with a patched up defence agianst a £70+ million forward line and was beaten on counter attack after two players swung and missed the ball.

Middlesbrough was always going to have bit to it, physically and mentally due to a number of circumstances and was tough for that reason alone. We should have won that game but lost ourselves.

Luton, well lucky to be alive after the shithousing that was going on. Was anti football and because of the wrestling tactics employed couldn’t get any flow to our game.

The next three away are all teams that like to play football, Hull are open and conceded for fun, Swansea seem to have all of the ball but do nothing with it and will be picked off on the high press and Preston don’t know how to score. Two wins and Draw.

Hull tough on paper.

Otherwise we've a great chance of a big points haul. I don't think we'll sit back against those teams, even if understandably a bit more cautious away from home (a tried and trusted football approach).

We're certainly better than all of them, but this is the Championship after all, so who knows what results will be thrown up

Unfortunately we look a totally different side away from home, it’s almost settle for a draw before kick off, try and nick one on the counter.

having to play on Sunday this week is ridiculous, all the hard work to get to top of the league and we could be 5th by the time we kick off.

The Rugby game at Hull should have been moved to the Sunday not the football game.
