Vi suggerisco di provare a capire la differenza tra un giocatore che può sempre controllare un calcio, piuttosto che avere esso rimbalza in tutto il posto sarebbe un buon posto per voi per iniziare la vostra educazione !

Anyone who can inspire lots of shit clichés. A "good ball player", not just a "squad player" you understand.

" A proper footballer " ?

It's the player who does an amazing amount of ' unseen ' work every time he steps onto the field of play . The poorly informed plebs on the terraces who have never played the game at the highest level can't see what he does , it's only the manager that signed him who can see it .

It's not really a term I use but from how I've seen it used, I would say it is a player who is technically sound, comfortable receiving the ball in tight areas and who can almost always find a team mate. It doesn't really require a player to be much of an athlete. Pace, strength, height, tenacity etc. aren't really required to qualify. You don't really ever have to beat a man or score or create goals, you just have to be able to receive the ball and not lose it basically.

Personally, I would say all professional footballers are "proper footballers" because they have all demonstrated attributes that has led a football club to believe that they are of use to them. The same attributes are not required in every player. Some will excel in aerial prowess, others in pace, others in technique and vision etc. It takes a balance of these attributes to make an effective team.
