If we play our game and they play theirs we will dominate them but unfortunately as we found out again Derby (first half), Stoke and a good few games last season dominating a team means absolutely sod all if we don’t put the ball in their net and keep the ball out of our net. My memory is rubbish and I was drunk but I remember going to Hillsborough in the Carl Asaba years and we absolutely battered them and lost two nil. Part of me is excited and can’t wait, the other part is shitting myself and happy to take a point just to get it over with.

Are we really the favourites to win the steel City derby ? Might be true looking at it in the media or from anyone outside the city looking at the league tables but we all know the underdog usually comes up with the goods in these games.
Myself I'm not over confident at all the reason being is although we sit 2pts clear at the top I don't think we are playing that well. That sounds wrong but apart from the demolition of Aston Villa have we really been consistently good ? In too many games we have taken the lead then gone into panic mode and thrown points away, we can't keep a clean sheet to save our lives, a few times we haven't turned up and been awful. If there was a consistently good team in this league they would be around 6pts clear of the rest by now. You have to say we are doing better than the rest but we can do better than that. CW knows this and will be pushing the players to cut out the mistakes that see us give soft goals away, and at the same time working on making our finishing as ruthless as it was last Saturday. This team can still get better this season.
We will have to be at it in the derby no room at all for one or two to be off their game. The pigs still have players that can hurt teams and have had some decent results mainly due to wonder strikes from Reach yet at other times they have been utter bobbar. I think dead loss Jos will have them up for this one even by this stage their thoughts of a top two finish look like a pipe dream, beating us could well be the highlight of their season. Think back to 91/92 when they were a good team but we did the double and virtually stopped them having a shot at being League Champions.

There's plenty of footage from those days showing the dirty play and even violence that players got away with. Granted that with today's standards of acceptable and non-acceptable levels of play, then that Wendy team would have been down to 9 men in the 1st 20 minutes.
