A plea to the kop

The low rake seemed to work pretty well when it was all standing. The problem with seeing and leg room is that it’s built pretty much at the same angle.

There was very little difference in the old steps and the new when I stood in the old corner the year after the roof and seats were re-done.
But people at that time were able to move around and find a suitable spot. My daughter and granddaughter are both small, and surely have the right to see the game. Taller fans soon get pissed off by smaller ones in front of them standing on the seats.

Gangway D too.

Really mixed feelings about redeveloping Kop one day. Sat in same spot since seats went in. Change and most sat around us would be scattered about in new stand. Not just about the chanting but all the banter, that’s on repeat mode throughout every season.

Sometimes better the devil ....

Think you might be in luck. The design that been passed having planing permission means the current seats stay exactly as they are now so no need to change seat. The Kop redevelopment covers 4 issues.

1: New much larger concourse area will be added to the back on the Kop, new toilets, kiosks and bars, all under cover.
2: Removal of the pillars, meaning no more restricted view seats.
3: An extra 3,200 seats added to the back behind the current stand, all at a steeper angle.
4: An office block will be added between the Kop and South stand meaning the whole stadium is fully enclosed.

It needs to include a sizeable area of safe standing. Good atmosphere can make a referee wobble and suck the ball into the net.

Whilst I agree with this with your daughter and granddaughter I think the kops probably not the best place to sit if they're small, I'm 6 foot and when you're up and down you still don't see everything.

Not be happening soon as things stand and not without new owners.

When you look at the coordination in European stadiums, it comes down to having a recognised person (or people) leading the songs. They take cues from the fans and then make sure D and H are singing from the same hymn sheet. I did read an article about it once and the theory that this has never taken hold in England because nobody would ever agree to 'being led'. The song-leader(s) would soon get a twatting because someone didn't agree with the choice of song or how it was being conducted.
