I was at a work conference today and introduced myself to the chap next to me who was as it happened a fellow Blade.

He still lives up there and is apparently only a few minutes from former United midfielder Mitch Ward. I won’t go into too much detail, but apparently Mitch still works (not full time) and obviously works some match days at Bramall Lane entertaining guests.

The chap in question sees Mitch regularly socially and spoke very highly of him as a down to earth guy with some brilliant stories. Mitch is still big mates with Carl Bradshaw as well.

Apologies to those who know this or didn’t find it that interesting, but it brightened my workday a bit.

Haven't seen him in a while, but I can confirm that Mitch is a very nice guy.
He gave me a signed (by the then Squad) shirt when I left Sheffield 27 years ago!

He's a great bloke, took some time out to chat to us and shared what he's up to now as well as his best times with United plus that move to Everton

For some reason I still expected Mitch Ward to still look like Mitch Ward!

The one ex blade I see every now and again is Bob Booker, v down to earth and every time I see him the first thing he says is "UTBs" I actually went to the cup semi Vs arsenal at old Trafford (seaman worldy) with him, Paul Rogers and Paul Watson (ex physio) and also sat nest to Alan Kelly and his wife, she had to put up with me eating all of her wine gums and numerously expletives when spunky pulled.off that save
