Can’t even remember what the prize was and I’d not even be sure that the pub is still open.

Other then that of course I will buddy. Drop em off for you next home game
Ok pal. I will meet you at turnstile 73 of the South Stand 15 mins prior to kick off. I will be in a wax Barbour Jacket with “Hunter” wellingtons. Make sure you bring those “Adelphi Hotel” beer tokens with you!

Many people won't have heard of CEEFAX.
It was what we had before High-speed broadband and Social Media.😁

I never got called a nonce on CEEFAX. The good old days

The ITV version was Oracle (teletext)

And what was on our shirts that day?

Booked many a holiday via ceefax. Used to take about an hour to cycle through the pages, by which time the £89 holiday to Crete had gone and you’re starting again 😫
This! You’d sit in front of the telly getting more and more pissed waiting for the dream bargain holiday to come around again. What started as a £300 2 week exclusive 5 star resort in Rhodes would be sacrificed for a desperate apartment in Ibiza and you had to meet a bloke called Keith in the airport departure lounge who had your tickets.

Think ITV's oracle or channel had a dating page, you could text in, " Miss piggy in S6 Sheffield, would like to meet well endowed Mr right porker, must love watching shit every Saturday..."

That's quite good actually, I've not seen that before. I just tried this one...

👍

If you have a decent VCR, it's still possible to pick up the Ceefax/Oracle signal from old video recordings. I know of someone who has picked up teletext pages from as early as the mid 70's...

Those of a certain age (mid 40s) might remember getting Teletext on BBC Micros (80% of schools had them).

There was even software where you could design your own Teletext page (and being the 80s, and with caning having just been banned, inserting swear words into teletext pages was compulsory).

If you've got a spare £2.5m you are better off with one of these riverside gaffs in Putney.

Just down the road from our own BushBlade , but don't tell him you've bought one, or he'll be round poncing a bowl of sugar every day.

I’ve gone past it in my boat several times and that’s the closest I’ll ever get to it. I can’t afford it at the 2004 price.

Didn't a group of our banned fans who used to gather in the Cricketers during games refer to themselves as the Ceefax Blades ?
