...that Japanese one's got the 'seal of approval'...
Seriously though...if you feel that a family member or loved one has lost their connection with reality, then this could help you to cope...

Reckons you can get yourself off any criminal charge by arguing that the Queen is not the genuine Queen because she wasn't crowned on the correct coronation stone!
arguing that McCabe and Birch were magnificent custodians of the club.
and that Blackie was a good manager,
Take it from me, it hasn't worked
No I didn't. I think you might be misunderstanding the concept of someone 'not agreeing' with your opinion and someone being the 'polar opposite' of your opinion. The two are not the same...
Questions of style apart, he was. I think this was discussed a couple of weeks ago and this was pretty much the inescapable conclusion despite everything to the contrary. Anyway I've said all I'm going to about Blackwell. Its a long time ago now and pretty irrelevant to what the club is doing today.
Sweet of you really, but it wasn't for me. Good luck with the 'Hoof' thing...
this is my favourite thread ever

You think Blackwell is irrelevant to what SUFC are doing at this moment - I think he is massively responsible for where we are now.
Was it not for you? Never mind old boy, I really was trying to help your hilarious delusions re all things SUFC.

I think most would say that the ex semi pro goalkeeper that managed us was pretty dismal.
Shocking football,
the systemic removal of high quality players to be replaced with extremely average players
underachievement,
Towards the end yes, but when he came in we were playing some good stuff.
There were some situation, like with Cotterill, where Id agree, but how much of this was down to Blackwell and how much was cost cutting forced upon him from above?
Where does he stand in terms of wins to games played compared to other managers? Didnt he take us from relegation to flirting with play offs one half season and actually to the play off final the next?
Yep, his first few months we did play some decent stuff. Out of his 2 and a half seasons in charge his first half season he did pretty well. After that it was negative, trugid hoofball.
The balme does not lie soley at Blackwell's door. Not by a long shot. He cannt be blamed for the sales of Kilgallon, Naugthton, Walker, Naysmith, Beattie, Tongue and . Though he can be blamed for selling Hulse, Hendrie and Cotterill and brining in worse (Henderson, Howard and Yeates). Look at some of his other signings (Taylor, Kozluk, Davies - on loan from Stoke, Craig Beattie, James Harper, Jordan Stewart etc) and you can see where I am coming from. There is also a case for him not getting the best out of players. Quinn and Evans are examples of players that performed better under managers since and Howard and Harper came in with good track records and did not play well.
His win ratio is pretty high and puts him right up there (http://www.s24su.com/forum/showthread.php?22202-Worst-manager-in-the-history-of-SUFC/page7). However you have to take into account that he had one of the best teams we've seen at the Lane for quite some time. He also (very importantly) had the best United defence we have seen fro more than 20 years.
Indeed. In every area its an altogether more nuanced picture than some make out.
Why then are you so quick to bring up his stats in other debates, without mention of these nuances.
You could have got results with the wedge and players that the obnoxious cretin had at his disposal.

Are you genuinly trying to say that Blackwell was a good manager for us? Or are you just (being pedantic) and trying to prove a point, because you think you can?? My bet is on the latter.
