Isn’t it an indictment of our wonderful football club that the only three managers who have achieved a modicum of success over the last 40 years have worn their hearts on their sleeves and two of them had close connections to the club.Is it possible that we have to appoint a Bassett,Warnock or Wilder to stimulate success,are we such a shallow club.The performance tonight was possibly the most disgraceful i have witnessed,the players should hold their heads in shame,we may as well have given the managers job to Jagielka or Sharp,at least the buggers would have had to show that they cared,what a bloody disgrace !!

we don’t get success as we don’t pay for quality players….we’ve been a “working class club” as we’ve bought those kinds of players - as JJ said primitive, this board will hopefully change that and let Slav have the 24m to bring in some actual cultured players who can provide quality of play.

Not a shallow club, an unambitious club & always will be. The very few fleeting moments of ambition under kendal & Robson were soon curtailed when 1 season success wasn't achieved.

I know it's ages ago & I will no doubt be castigated but I can't help looking back to the early years of football. Sheffield started professional football & as such was a power house with many top players heading for our City. The turn of the 20th Century was a golden period in which we dominated before Liverpool & Man U were heard of.
Things could have been so different with a little ambition even then. From little acorns .... or in our case .. 'From BIG Acorns grow little trees'.

That’s pretty much what happened last night. West Brom had 35% possession & were energetic & pressed from the off. They didn’t need to have the ball, just pressured us into mistakes or conceding set pieces then using their strengths to punish us.
