Sounds a bit like Tufty's trying to do the best he can but with one ankle and one hand chained to the gate post, Sheff U way though, we get an honest good manager who turns the club around on the pitch, gets the fans behind the team but those in charge continue to chuck sticks of dynamite underneath him.
Remnds me of the end scene of "Von Ryans Express" with Sinatra reaching out to grab the hand to get pulled onto the train...like us trying to reach the prem...

In the original ending, Von Ryan was going to get away, but Sinatra wanted the ending changing so there couldn't be any sequels. Not sure how that ties in to United - perhaps the conspiracy that the powers don't want us promoted?

I think he's a decent poster, says it as it is. Don't agree with everything he says but that applies to nearly every poster. The only feathers he seems to be ruffling are those posters "of the mature age group" who appear to be trying to turn this forum into Bladesmad V2.0 with a core of posters hogging the forum and trying to steer the thing according to their own rules. We need a few more like him to ensure this never happens and for Foxy and Linz to continue doing a mighty fine job and running it according to their rules.

We don't need £20 million to get promoted, I'm sure that out there somewhere is a quick, strong, fit, youngish striker that could bang 12 goals in for us between January and May that we could get for £3 - £4 million. The problem is finding them, they'll definitely be out there in Spain or France but we don't do Spain or France.
One thing I don't want is a loan from Man UfuckingNited or Liverpool. It never works at our club, you can almost sense their feeling of entitlement and lack of commitment the second they walk through the door.
The other thing is, it's not all somebody else's money. If we have a shortfall of £5 million per year that's what our owners put in. But we fans put more than that in each season so we deserve to be able to call it our money as well.

Yes we have, Hendo is the exception, but he had proven himself to be a top character at Shrewsbury, he wasn't too high and mighty to drop down the divisions like some of the loans we've had and he's probably delighted to be here

That's what Wilder seeks out . Don't have to be worth 10m but have to have the attitude to want to play. Look at piggies big money buys . Some of them their attitude stinks . Small knocks have become long term lay offs as they lack the will and desire to play. Mcgoldrick has really impressed since his arrival as his attitude and desire to get involved is first class. Money can't buy that desire to play it's a trait Chris hunts down and puts players on his wanted list a lot would miss
