Well that was a coupon busting shock of a result yesterday....or was it?
I doubt anyone won a bean on the correct score yesterday, but a predictable home win? Possibly.
As we all know, winning runs/unbeaten runs have to come to and end at some point.
We'd already been beaten twice (admittedly once with a significantly different team to yesterday) but the other just a few weeks ago....on our own patch.
Deserved victory or not, Walsall's confidence and self-belief must have been sky high after plundering that unlikely 1-0 at our place. So when Billy's early strike smashed against the cross bar and they scored soon after, I think THEY could be forgiven for being the ones to think, "All we have to do is turn up against these"!!
I must admit, after their first went in I had a big swig of my G and T and laid back thinking, "No problem, we'll come back and smash these"
Well, as we now know, that didn't happen, and in some style!
But am I disillusioned, fearful, worried that the bubble has burst?
Not in the slightest.
Heck, I'm not even annoyed.
Sometimes, it's just 'one of those days' as it probably was for Peterborough fans too.
Bury - Drawn 2 Lost 7
Peterborough - Won 5 Drawn 3 Lost 1
Result? Bury 5 Posh 1
Last time we lost against Walsall, we went on a 6 match winning run.
I feel we are more likely to do that or something similar again this time, than losing any of the next 6, such is the confidence I have in CW and his squad.
Of course, this might turn into more than just a one-off.
We might have to negotiate a minor blip for a few games, but negotiate it we will. I'm sure of that.
The only thing that changed my mind after yesterday is that I now think it will be Scunny giving us a run for our money rather than Bolton.....unless they just had an off day yesterday too of course!
