Here's a comparison of our best three seasons in the third flight (1983/4 was a close fourth). To allow comparison, the numbers for this season are projected from the current standings up to 46 games. Of course, 'best' is really depending on the final outcome, and I'm sure everyone would agree that 1988/89 ("promoted") was better than 2011/12 ("not promoted"), despite having a poorer record on nearly all statistical counts.

The difference in style between the three seasons is huge too.

88/89.... we really were a two man team with the two up front. And a style which worked and involved lots of balls forwards to those two at the earliest possible opportunity.

11/12....Good football, top quality striker at the top of his game but a soft underbelly when facing the teams around us.

16/17...Good football, possession, and chance creation.....while being a tougher side to beat and a better record against the sides in the top 6. If those predictions end up right we will be worthy champions.
