Sounds like a manager that cares. I reckon that's what we want. Hope he and Billy get on. TBH I wanted Wilder last time.
Don't get me wrong, I've got nowt against Wilder but I believe that all managers care about what they're doing, for professional pride if nowt else.

I don't give a monkeys how they present themselves to the fans or the media, it's just not relevant to me.

I don't think this constant chopping and changing has helped us at all and I wouldn't have sacked any of the last three managers when we did.

I wish Wilder the best of luck (he'll need it, Blade or not) and for the record I have championed his cause since before he left Oxford for Northampton, it's just the media bit that irks me.

Excellent videos.

Sounds like a man that is passionate, and very much cares about stuff.

I think he could do very well at the Lane, given time and some cash to play with.

I for one am very excited about Chris Wilder becoming the next Sheffield United manager.

Welcome home Chris.

Once a Blade, always a Blade!

The sort of Bladey Bladey Bollocks that drives me to despair. No interview ever won a point. Bob Paisley had all the overt passion of a broom handle; likewise Bill Nicholson. Count the trophies.

No welcome from me Chris.

BladeFisher I'll say one thing about him, he doesn't hold back!

If he speaks like that to the press, the first meeting at Shirecliffe will be a massive difference to what we've just witnessed.

He's direct when he speaks and seems honest in the way he comes across

Just hope his tactical nous matches his passion and we'll be onto something.

I guess you'll be one of the miserable twats that'll be booing him, and screaming for his head after he's been here 5 minutes?

He's a United fan, who cares about the club, knows its history, and knows where it should be. He knows what kind of passion and commitment is required from the players by the fans on the terraces. And, I don't think he'll be too impressed by anyone not giving at least 100%.

You fucking boo him, miserable twat!

I for one, will be happy-clapping him at his first match in charge, and will welcome home one of our own back to the Lane.

Go on, trot off man. You have had your say like an overgrown school kid again.

Did you say that about Adams, you know, the "Welcome home" and "once a Blade always a Blade" bollocks? I'm sorry, I just don't get this feeling that just because a manager might run up and down the touchline and punch the air to make a point and "prove he's passionate" or is one of our own means that he will be a good appointment. If he becomes manager, I wich him well but that's because of what he has taken on, not because of where he's come from.

Spot on. No more 'tryers' and 'passion' (which as we all know means FUCK ALL). This is a football club and all that matters is producing a quality football team.

Let the fans take care of the passion, build it and they will come

No welcome?
Are you daft?

Why don't you go and go shopping or summat every weekend?

Swiss, that was what I thought when I heard him. Since I didn't know what he sounded like I sought out a few videos of interviews. I thought wow, this guy really does care. The players speak well of him. Methinks we might go somewhere under Wilder but it will get tougher as we climb and I wonder does he has what it takes should we get to the PL? Anyway it is now that matters and I think he really could be the right guy for our current challenge.

Did he care in all those mediocre seasons of the last 15 years...

Whilst Mr Wilder may have some dosh I doubt if he has the millions that would have been required to buy SUFC from McCabe and then install himself as team manager.

Pinchy. You'll see from my posts that I agree that just being a blade doesn't mean it's right to appoint him and our history with regard to appointing explayers as managers (or caretaker manager) is not particularly impressive. However, I think your "no welcome" comment is a tad too hard mate. If he's manager, I welcome him with open arms (the same as I did with Wilson, Adkins, Clough et al) but not just because he's a blade.

He kind of reminds me of Wilson, but with more fire in him (not that Wilson lacked fire, but he was measured in his media approach).

To be honest, I don't give a flying F about us producing quality football.

The only thing that matters to me, is getting promoted to the Championship.

If that means bringing in 8 bruisers, that kick the shit out of the other team, and scares them so much that they don't want to go in for the 50/50 tackles, then that's fine by me.

Chris Wilder has been around the lower leagues long enough, and had enough success at different clubs, to know what's needed to get out of this shit league.

All it needs, is for the usual minority of morons, to keep off his back long enough for him to make that happen.

For years now, SUFC has had so-called supporters that can't wait for a manager to fall flat on his face, just so that they can be proven correct.

It was the same with Bassett, Warnock, and managers before them.

No one wants to see United play quality, skillful football more than me, but I'm also a realist. Getting players to play like Messi, and Ronaldo ain't gonna happen in League 1, so if it means passion and muscle to get us promoted, then I'll back that method all the way.

If we get to the Premier League again one day, then I'll start being more demanding of the quality on the pitch.
